If you could change 1 Grand Slam Match result, which one would you change?

Don't choose a final, that is too obvious.

For me I would defo change 2018 WB SF, so that my favourite player Isner could have made a GS final (jk, of course Nadal Djoko SF).

What bout you?

Henman beats Ivanisevic at Wimbledon 2001. Yeah, it would end up replacing the great Goran moment. I always supported Henman. Just couldn't get to the final.

Alas, he was done in by the weather. Was all over Goran at the start of their match and then the rain came and it got suspended. Next day a rejuvenated Goran turned the tables and the rest is history. Luck never quite seemed to be on Tim's side at Wimbledon.

Why wouldn't you want Henman to have the win over Sampras in 98, so he plays Goran in the final, rather than the multi time USO slam champion and RU at the previous W, Rafter?

Didn't the Tiger get DQ'd at W 94 for hitting a ballgirl with the ball?

I don't know. Think maybe my mind just can't ever see a possibility of Henman beating Pete. haha That is mad though, Pete was so strong that I can't even give Henman a fantasy win against him. Against Goran he really had a chance.

I mean WI18 SF was practically the final, so if we're playing that game I suppose USO 14, Djokovic beats Nishikori? Get him on 4 USOs and level with Nadal there.

It was the following year and he was playing the 1st round of doubles with Jeremy Bates against Jeff Tarango and Henrik Holm. He missed an easy volley and hit the ball out in frustration. Unfortunately it caught a nearby ballgirl on her ear. He apologised to the girl but the umpire decided to default him and Bates and end the match. He later sent flowers to the ballgirl and they were pictured smiling together. Apparently he and the hapless Bates were the first doubles players to be disqualified from a tournament in the Open Era.

Tarango? LOL - Didn't his wife slap the umpire that year at Wimbledon also? :D

AO 2014 final. I can't imagine a loss which can be worse than this. Wimbledon 2018 semifinal is a close second though.

RG13 or 11 SF. 13 because he would've probably won. 11 because we would've seen an amazing final instead of the Emperor Strikes Back moment.

I'm sure the actual 2011 final was much more competitive than the potential Nadal-Djokovic final would be. That would be a routine 3-4 set win of absolute peak Djokovic over a mentally broken Nadal.

Yep. Tarango got into an argument with the umpire over a corrected line call during his 3rd round singles match against Alexander Mronz of Germany and stormed off the court. His wife then approached the umpire and slapped him in the face. Tarango later accused the umpire (Frenchman Bruno Rebeuh) of being corrupt. Unsurprisingly he didn't get much sympathy from the British crowd given he had played a part in persuading the umpire to default Henman and Bates after the ballgirl incident in their earlier doubles match.

Apparently it was the first time a player had walked off court during a match (which he had been losing anyway) in the entire history of Wimbledon.

LOL - Looks like he was involved in way too much drama that edition of Wimbledon. I remember the whole slapping incident.

Fed-Safin AO05 I guess. Would be the favourite over Hewitt and if he wins it gives him complete mastery of non-clay slams from 04-07.
Or maybe the SF of USO14. Gives him another USO.

Um wat? Sure, Djokovic was in BOAT mode, but by no means would it have been an easy win over near-Peak Nadal at RG, even if he was a little shaky in that particular tournament. In fact, I'd still pick Nadal 60-40 if it happened.

The 2004 FO SF between Henman and Coria. Had Henman won he'd have played Gaudio in the final with a, at the time, 3-0 h2h advantage with 2 of those wins coming on clay at Monte Carlo and Estoril.

Now that would have been EPIC - Henman's lone slam win coming on clay. :-D

Strange thinking about how he was one match win away from a FO final against a player he'd already beaten twice on clay in best of 3 set matches. Gaudio for a FO slam title or trying to get through Sampras for a Wimbledon title. If only.

He had won the first set against Coria in the semis also. I also remember how he did in Chela with S/V in the quarters, frustrated him by refusing to rally with him.

Most of the painful Fed losses that come to mind are ones where I don't think he would have won the tournament anyway so it's hard to choose. And there are others that hurt like hell but made future wins all the more satisfying so I wouldn't change them in hindsight.

I've always been curious to flip his QF match with Berdych at the 2012 US Open and see how the rest of that tournament plays out.

What about Wimbledon 2019?

Hewitt d. Agassi USO 2002 SF would be nice, could beat AA and Pete back to back and cap off a fantastic 12 months,

To be fair, I think that semi-final was one between two players with lots of bad luck/ near misses at the sharp end of Wimbledon. One of them unfortunately had to lose out. (Same could be said about the final between Goran and Rafter for that matter, although at least Pat had the consolation of finishing his career with 2 US Opens)

I missed the Chela match but watched all of the Coria one. He done the same to Coria for about a set and a half and I really he was going to win as he was in control of how the match was being played.

It took a mighty all out effort from Coria to turn it around. Henman did pull the trigger a little too quick on certain shots against Coria that he could have done better on had he been a little more patient.

Looks like from a a quick youtube check the entire match is online in a few parts so could be worth watching again.
