Would you get a Head Custom made racquet, or Babolat PLAY Pure Drive.

I'd get the Head racquet, at least I can have my name printed on it.

The head custom frames are sort of a bust. Basically, you can have your name printed and then they will add lead in certain places. Kind of a gimmick if you ask me. At least the Play is pretty interesting.

If I have to buy racquets, I would get Angell frames, which allows me to get two customized and matched frames. If I don't have to (and I don't have to), I just spend the money on lessons, stringjobs and side equipment, that will do fine.

I like two things... first, being able to choose our grip shape. Second, having them produced in Austria by hand rather than mass-produced in China.

I can't justify twice the price. But, it's pretty cool.

Neither. If having your name on your racket is such a big deal you can save yourself a lot of money by just buying a regular Head racket and a Brother P-touch labelmaker, or instead of the Babolat Play Pure Drive buy a regular Pure Drive and use the rest of the money on some lessons.

^^^^ on second thoughts, if there is a sizeable population that can pay upwards of US$3000 for a hand bag, why not take advantage of them?

I'd get a Pure Drive play. I think it would be pretty interesting to use for practices. :)

Tennis-wise, the head custom made. Although I'd rather just have 2 more graphene speed pros, more string, or for indoor court money.

Non tennis-wise, you'd see me with a shiny new PS4...! :)

The Babolat P&C is $200 for a system that, according to Daniel/Babolat Official, can't tell the difference between a volley and a ground stroke.

The Head program charges you $200 to add about $3 worth of lead tape to a frame.

Answer: neither.

Buy two matched copies of a frame that you really enjoy from TW (great matching service). Then buy a pack of lead tape for $3 and customize them yourself.

If I was to spend that on a racquet I would promptly go and get my head tested!

One of the rackets I use has just shown up in a large sports store for £15 new and its certainly not worse than a Pure Drive.

Given those two options I would get the Play. That said, I can think of much better things to do with my $400, like buying two of another racquet that I would prefer to play with. Or, if I already had one I liked I could buy a second and a Gamma X2 stringing machine.

Right now I am in the position of having three identical racquets that I love, a stringing machine, plenty of string and overgrips. The only thing I have left to spend my money on is lessons and club membership, so I am doing that.

They both are bad, i rather spent money on a reel of rip off luxilon than buy one of those two racquet.
If i have to pick one, then it will be babolat play. There is nothing special about the head customize one.And i can always sell the babolat for a good price.

I demoed the Babolat play. what a bore. the tech is not quite there yet. Maybe if you put sensors all over your body and then use a sophisticated program. But this Babolat play is just not cutting it. Save your money. or just write me a check.
