If Zverev loses to Murray, should he retire?

He’d be 0-2 against hipray. Plus the handshake would be hilarious given Murray’s opinions on the Zverev situation.

Z won't lose. Can easily throw Muzz off by taking a page out of Titsi's playbook (take a 15 minute pooh break).

Zverev has become mentally tough, and consistent in the non-slams, just lacks the finishing touches in the last couple of rounds of a slam (the same problem Murray had for most of his career).
Zverev is probably the best player on the tour in best-of-3-sets, seeing as Medvedev is only a hardcourter....

I don't see Zverev losing although i would love it. I just hope Murray would give him a nice fight so that at least he can gain confidence! Forza Andy!

And because the big 3 don't care about bo3 tournaments now. Even masters tournaments now for them are like 500s are for other top 50 players

Not sure how many people are watchig Indian wells but the courts are like treacle and not bouncimg much due to the balls being used. Absolutely perfect conditions for Murray.
I think he will win and i think he will win the event. If he does he is a slam contender. People write him off and are nasty about him but he is clearly now top 30 standard but has more talent than anyone but the big 3.
The win over Alcaraz was big.

Zverev, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Rublev, Thiem, this gen are all roughly on par with each other.

If 34 year old Murray coming back from being out so long with a new hip beats a prime Zverev, it just shows the gap in skills and quality between the previous gen of Fed-al-mur-vic, and this gen.

If Murray could win Indian wells which is the biggest m1000 event the boost he will get and Fedalovic will get will be off the charts and you can guarantee next season will see the Majors dominanted by the Big 4 as they push each other to keep going. They will recognise all they need do is keep fit.
zverev v murray is a huge match.

Hiya! Murray seems to be doing pretty well on this recovery, what do you think he can achieve in this new part of his career?
It's a bit of a vicious circle for him. Until he can get his ranking up he is constantly facing brutal draws against some of the very best in-form players and yet because he can't progress beyond a round or two he can't win enough matches to get his ranking up.

IMO he should focus on Challengers and 250s and try and get some consistent results there to boost his ranking and start qualifying for the bigger events instead of relying on wildcards which may not always be forthcoming.

Do you think he can win titles and perhaps even bigger titles going forward?
