ok, first off ill go ahead and say im not a big nadal fan. and im not a big federer fan, but i will say i like federer more than nadal for various reasons.

all i've read on here is federer won BECAUSE nadal was tired/injured. i dont know much about the madrid tournament, but was it a week tournament, or a 2 week? i do know that the tournament itself is best of 3 sets.

now heres my question. If nadal is getting injured, and wore and everything from a reletively easy tournament conditions, how is he gonna handle the french? chances are the conditions are going to be hotter, and chances are he will not play a match in less than 2.5 hours(i would think) since its best of 5. i wanna know how he could possibly run into multiple 4 hour matches before the final, how is he going to handle it?

On GS tournaments players play every other day. On MS tournaments they play later rounds every day. That is the difference and that is why Nadal was tired in the final, after exhausting epic long SF, more than he was in AO final after another exhausting even longer 5 setter SF. He had a whole extra day of rest on AO.

as roger said to djoker's trash-o-parents---BE QUIET

As long as the opponents are poor quality, he won't say that he's fatigued.
Nadal had more rest time than Federer since his match finished earlier+an entire extra day of rest, yet he still blamed his loss on fatigue.
He and djokovic spent the majority of the 4 hours standing around or slowly walking in circles.
Federer probably had more actual playtime for the tournament than either of them.

the real final was between delpo and THE NEW KING OF CLAY since they didnt have a w.o. AND they played their semi later...imagine
what would happen if THE NEW KING OF CLAY wasn't as tired...

Federer said masters series events can be more grueling and tougher than slams because they're only over 1 week and there's no rest day between matches. SO there's your answer. Recovery time is the key differentiator

^^^LOL, they haven't said a word since.

Fed did this to them:

Are you really comparing a three set match involving two tiebreaks that went on for four hours to a routine straight set spanking of Del Potro?

It's at maxnimum a 3 hour normal match if they took the same time as Fed and Del Potro in between points. In addition, Nadal had more time to recover and a day off.
So a 3 hour normal match+1 day rest+few hours more rest is more favorable than a straights set match without any walkovers and less time to recover.
If you're going to ignore these facts and selectively choose what to compare, then you should just keep your mouth shut.

He wasn't tired. People can't praise Nadal non-stop and when he finally loses say it was his previous matches catching up to him. he obviously wasn't at 100% and neither was Federer, but that doesn't matter

the final of Madrid 09 was Federer vs Nadal and Federer won, the end.

Well as Federer has accurately stated. The match will always be won or lost on his racquet. He was on in the Madrid final and it wouldn't matter how fresh or how well Nadal played, when Federer is on he can't be beat. So Nadal may have indeed been tired, but it wouldn't have mattered if he wasn't. Fed was on.
