I'm in tennis Nirvana today

Wow, this is the best Saturday of tennis I've seen in a while, easily the best since Wimbledon. The tension between Roddick and Hewitt, and the best backhands in the WTA. Hell, we even got some competetive Federer action as icing on the cake. Any more of this and my Tivo will explode!

I know the schedule isn't anything new, but this really caps off a week. Makes me glad I stocked up on a few cold ones on Friday.

I agree, JHH and AM's match today was beautiful tennis. There's a thing called, "The Art of Tennis." And the shots looked beautiful. A lot of just beautifully executed shots during the match.

I wish I could of seen more volleying though.

I agree 100%. Mauresmo came in a couple of times on her first serve game of the match, but then it seemed to die down. Either way, it was a great match. Don't get me wrong, Roddick v Hewitt was good, but watching their backhand rallies was a bit boring. Watching Henin v Mauresmo, I found myself getting up every couple of minutes, grabbing my racquet, and pretending I was JHH. Uh, well, pretending I was hitting the backhand, not pretending I was being a woman . . . uh, yeah.

Nirvana indeed. Some of the rallies in which the players traded backhands were lovely to watch. And JHH had three or four mean cross-court topspin backhands which pushed Mauresmo far out of the ad court, and set-up winners. Mauresmo was nice at the net too. It was good tennis all around.

I really wanted a Federer-Safin epic but unfortunately, I got stuck with a Federer-Roddick butt-whooping.
No....it would not have been a Safin - Federer epic anyway...

Stop your whining and see what happens.
