I'm ready for Nadal to be the Greatest

Up until this point, I always wanted Federer to go down as the greatest. I wasn't even a fan of him, I'm a Murray fan.

I thought that Federer being the most stylish and technically gifted player, it seemed fitting that he should go down as the best player.

Now that I am involved in coaching tennis, I am now happy to see Nadal or Djokovic overtake Federer.

For one major reason.
I like the idea of either 2 of the greatest athletes in our sport sitting at the top spot. It gives our sport more credibility.

Nadal and Djokovic are both physical freaks and try harder than almost anyone.

But, if Federer stays with more slams he's the best.
May the best man win!

I agree on the athlete part, but this argument will never reach a consensus -- and I kind of like it that way. It's taken me years, but I like Roger and Novak now. Rafa is still my favorite athlete I've had the pleasure of watching in real-time (Muhammad Ali is still #1), but these three guys deserve equal parts of the GOAT pie. Too many huge wins and great moments not to. Unless one of them overwhelmingly takes the GS record, I'll always think of it as a three-way tie.
