I'm so nervous! Please Roger win Wimbledon!

One match at a time.

Berdych is a good player, but so is Federer.
If Fed plays as well as he has been, and Berd does his part, Fed should get the win today.

The other semifinal will be interesting too. I hope there is a good (and long) contest there.

i honestly wish he went first...like i just need to get this over with and there if cilic/querrey is a lengthy one...forget it. my nerves will reach an all time high
I so hoped they would change the order. I will breathe well when Fed gets the first break against Berdy, Hopefully it comes within the first 10 games.

I'm just happy he's competing this well at 35, nearly 36.

lmao i won't breathe well until i see mps and even then i'll be nervous. and while sam/cilic I'm sure are tired because of their long matches on wednesday and it could end quickly, they also have the ability to go to a 5 setter.

Seriously though, he will be ok .. don't push yourself too hard ..

I can relate to you because I happened to be in the exact same situation a while ago

I used to literally not be able to sleep the night before his big matches .. until I had a condition of hair falling called "telogen effluvium" triggered by excessive stress from anxiety ..

Until a certain moment when I told myself: "Focus on what's good for you .. life will go on .. Even if he loses - God forbids - he still walks out with a ton amount of money and you will end up with a ton amount of burden on your heart" .. Everything fell on the right place for me since then ..

Stay healthy! :)

Fed fans getting nervous. :) Understandable.

Question for you all. Are the nerves the same as you would expect them to be if you had Djokovic and Nadal still in the tournament, or is it different?

Federer has this. No, this is not a TTW jinx, I don't believe in such stuff. I am very confident that he will win this Wimbledon.

You want him to win so badly that it wipes out the entire fun. No offence but your constant panic mode is a little disturbing. Seriously, calm down.

If Federer wins the tournament - great but if he loses - congratulate your opponent and move on, this is not the be-all end-all. You're wasting nerves on the whole process/journey.

I'm already content - Fed reached the SF, he destroyed Raonic, all of his biggest rivals lost earlier so he gained points on them and I'd be happy for anyone else winning the tournament, really. I would've probably felt differently if Fed lost at the AO but having that trophy in his bag everything else he wins this year is a bonus for me as a fan.

Its a different thing playing against Djokovic/Nadal than Berdych. Federer would be either bookies underdog or slightly favourite against Djokovic (if he was healthy) but is a massive favourite against Berdych (because everyone is expecting him to win) and if he loses you can imagine the trolling and the insults :(
Plus Federer seems desperate for his #8 since he skipped clay season to focus on this one and that'll be a massive disappointment for himself. The loss against Berdych (if it is to happen today) is gonna hurt infinitely more than a loss to a Djokovic today (if he was healthy).

It's somewhat Roger's tournament to lose now, but it's still very dangerous and uncertain. This reminds me of the USO 2014, which in fact had CIlic in the semis up to that point and winning the whole thing. Berdych should be a matchup Roger learned to handle in the last few years, but it's on grass, the surface that suits his game the most and where he can be the most dangerous. A final vs Querrey would be much more preferable, but the tournament right now is potentially just as dangerous than it could have been with either Djokovic and Nadal up to this point. Cilic is in some serious grass form right now and really hungry. He can definitely beat Federer.

So yeah, nothing's for certain, just take it one match after another as a fan. Chances are good, but upsets can still happen.

It's different, this is a golden opportunity and even though he would've still been the favourite with djoker and rafa in, this Wimby is obviously now his to lose. We've seen 3 close calls in the last few years and we don't know how many chances he has left for the 8th.

Different.
With Djoker and Nadal still in, his prospects of victory would be slimmer, so the nerves would be closer to a strong hope for him to win, rather than this feeling that it's so close.

You sums it up well. It's not because of the opponents but because of the importance of the event. He can't let this chance fall off his hand.

Who gives a **** about them?
If you read through some of my earlier posts, you'd realize that my post was meant as a joke even though sadly, it's still true for some of the less open minded followers of the sport on this site. :(

Personally, Sunday can't get here quick enough. Wimbledon Final, GoT New Season and Snacks.

11 Wimbledon finals. 11 FK Wimbledon finals. How many careers would you need to accomplish that?

The funny thing is that I think he can reach 1-2 more. Imagine him reaching 2x more Wimbledon finals than Sampras, what a joke!

Make that one more match, but Cilic is the danger man, but Im confident Roger can win as long as he remains calm, and he will be the calmer of the two on Sunday.

I can't stop worrying. He is so close.:oops::oops::oops:

Two more matches.
You are one match away now. I have gone back to read some old threads and checked that you were going on and on about Federer and Wimbledon since the start of clay season. You decided to skip the clay season, just like him! LOL

Now, if he wins Sunday, will you finally stop worrying. Or does it all crank up again the next day for the USO?

It's worse for me because Cilic can absolutely hit anyone off the court when he's on. No Fed fan forgets the last hour of the '09 USO final when Del Po was hitting 100 MPH forehands all over the court. Cilic has that type of brutal power, plus he has a huge serve. He's bigger and stronger than either Rafa or Nole.

Djoker and Nadal are obviously both far, far greater players than Cilic, but neither has a Cilic serve, or the ability to just blast howitzers from the baseline at will.

Now had Novak still been in 2014/2015 form and not injured, I would be more afraid of him because of the mental scarring he inflicted on Roger in the two Wimbledon finals. We know Roger has overcome (for now) his mental block against Rafa, but we don't know how he would currently match up against Novak.
