Imagine the scenes if Nadal sweeps #21 at RG 2022

RG could be very wide-open this year, even with a hopefully healthy Rafa. If Thiem is healed, he figures to contend, along with Novak and Tsit. Z will be in the mix, and then we have some improving youngsters, with Ruud, Musetti, Sinner and Alcaraz. And one day, Med will figure out clay...maybe.

This has to be the most likely scenario now. Not beig defending champion will help hugely whem going for 21.
The problem Djokovic has at AO is he has lost the halo now against the likes of Zverev and Medvedev. Zverev smoked him at Olympics and went 5 sets in New York. he wont fear Djokovic. Medvedev after NY will feel super confident.
also Djokovic will not want to run in to Nadal and or Federer in Australia. The way he choked in NY and Tokyo will give Nadal and Federer a lot of confidence at any slam v Nole now.
on clay nobody is really close to Nadal. Even with a badly injured foot and back Nadal won 2 titles and reached the FO sf. So nobody really will have the belief they can win 3 sets v a healthy Nadal in Paris.
add all that togeher right now Nadal has to be favourite to take the lead in slam race. 2022 is really excting prospect.
If Federer comes back properly recovered he may have a shot at Wimbledon if he plays well. Again nobody on grass except Djokovic has belief v a healthy Federer. Federer v Djokovic at W would be a classic if we get it.
Much to look forward to

Nadal won't win another RG title ever in his career.

He could bag one or two more titles from the other 3 Slams, though.

Here's what happens- Djokovic roars back to take 21 at AO, Nadal regains his rightful crown at FO, Federer makes a run and takes another Wimbledon- it all comes down to the final US OPEN, all in form they are playing for the top spot in the rivalry- first to 22. But none of them win it- they are mercilessly dispatched by bionic man Andy Murray- reminding the world that there's a "big 4" and they are back in town.

Didn’t Mad Lad do a whole lot better this past clay season, or at least at RG? My memory isn’t the greatest, but that’s what I seem to recall……and that he was surprised to find himself enjoying playing on clay!

He needs the Australian. Not the french because Nole completed the double career slam this year. If he can't complete the double career slam he needs a 3 lead slam count or so to be GOAT over Nole because he also lacks the YEC. Really, for Nadal to be GOAT he needs Nole to stop at 20 and he needs maybe 2 seasons of a big run. Thats the only way

Ball is in Nadal's court ... let's see what he does with it !?

We've seen what Djokovic did with his !

Rafael Nadal is legendary at clay, at RG he is godlike even. Imagine the motivation players have playing against him at RG, trying to be the guy who beats the RG demigod. And he's more vulnerable than ever (age, foot problem).

I made a thread before the beginning of RG 2021 that Nadal won't win a RG title anymore. Many users laughed at me. I stated that Djokovic and the young guys will be eager to beat him.

Djokovic beat him this year, some of the younger guys will beat him at RG 2022, and at RG 2023 he will not be a contender anymore.

On the other hand, I feel he can win another Slam outside RG, maybe even as an outsider. There won't be that kind of will in other players to beat him at other Slams, as it exists at RG. He might win AO or Wimby.
