Definitely one of if not the best 2HB of any NextGen. Have achieved a huge amount already and still a teen. No doubt a regular top 10 in the future and his backhand is the stand out so far. In 5 to 10 years time will we be talking about Sinner having one of the best 2HB ever?

eg rivaling that of Djokovic, Agassi, Nalbandian.

If there is anyone on this board discussing a backhand’s intricacies, I am sure it will be you.

I am obsessed about it yes. I played tennis for 16 years with a single hander and just switched to a double hander 6 weeks ago... have a lot of catching up to do.

I’m really just messing around tbh. I find your take on tennis as a conduit to improving your own technique, so of course it makes sense to be extremely analytical to this point of each single detail. Which aligns with your signature.

To answer your question though - he definitely could be. Not sure if you’ve seen this article before but gives insight into his Bh speed already: but he has a long way to go. https://www.atptour.com/en/news/sinner-infosys-beyond-the-numbers-april-2020

Great article. In fact I really think Sinner's backhand is the NextGen version of Nalbandian's backhand. It's the natural evolution of Nalbandian's backhand.

He is no Nalbandian. Nalbandian’s tactical abilities were visible right from day one while Sinner just tries to blast the ball. He cannot even hit a backhand DTL properly. Sinner is basically a spinnier version of Berdych with a worse forehand and a better backhand.

And no serve....How is he like Berdych...

Berdych’s serve is quite overrated in my opinion, but yes your point is taken. I should’ve clarified I think he’s definitely more like Berdych off the ground, or maybe even young Djokovic, than Nalbandian. Sinner doesn’t have the precision or guile of Nalbandian and never will. He also hits a far heavier ball, which implies that he will never be forced to develop those skills to the extent Nalbandian did.

Peak ttw.

Fault.

When players are young , they get bullied by name-drops like nalbandian. Nalbandian might be most overrated player on this site. At his height , he needed to be very fit and able to go to net a lot more to have chances. As his serve did not have punching power.

His backhand was great also because he was nearer to the ground than some of the guys today. It's much difficult for tall players to time their backhand. Yet sinner does.

He has distinct chance to overtake Djokovic for the best backhand of all time. Not nalbandian. Nalbandian is never chosen by any atp present player or past player when they build perfect player. He is forgotten.

Every single player and every single person who actually plays knows how perfect and beautiful Nalbandian’s BH is. It’s unfortunate that you cannot see beyond gloryhunting “who has won what.” There’s so much more to the game than that.

No no
No no..

I would not want certificate from someone like YOU who had issues with hitman saying sinner belongs in group of players with perfect groundstrokes. No sir. You are no authority. So cry more glory hunting.

This is just sad. I know you don’t look at anything other than who has won what, but have you seen what Nalbandian can do with a BH that looks like a FH? How he can roll the wrists and create absurd angles, how he can take it early on every surface? And this is on television—in person, it’s even more incredible. We’re not talking about how much someone won, but rather just the sheer brilliance of a perfect looking BH? This is a beautiful game that goes beyond “X player won Y”; I’m sorry that you can’t appreciate this nor ever understand it.

The respect factor is going down sharply in ttw and it's both ways. You attack we attack.
We? Lol
