I'm not hating on Jabeur here. I picked her to win pre-tournament and I think she could've navigated a tougher road. I respect when players are able to avoid the carnage when all the seeds around them are dropping like flies. I'm just wondering from a genuine historical perspective. Are there any past parallels?

Brian Teacher territory but as they say you can only beat who you play (Mertens beat her in straights at the 2021 USO). And Ons had to go 6 rounds to make the final and AO not exactly a major event when Teacher won.

And it was still much tougher than Djokovic's 2016 USO draw. Sure Djokovic had it clearly easier before the final, but this is an absolutely massive joke if we include the final. Stan in USO 2016 final was 10x tougher than anyone Nadal faced in USO 2017.
