Im impressed that some in here remembers specific posters and make up stories about them.TW changes people lol....Can't say I blame posters, it probably gets very nauseating after a while...
I'm happy to see you bring that up.Nadal was considered the form player in the first week at Wimbledon and was pressing Federer for favouritism. I don't think he'll be skipping it..until he retires.
I'm happy to see you bring that up.
I thought he looked better than Fed, and so did many commies.
I stay for the quality posters, and the match threads. I've actually learned quite a lot from some here, unfortunately you have to dig through the crap to find it at times.Im impressed that some in here remembers specific posters and make up stories about them.
I dont know f.ex who is your fav players and I dont care. I know you love tennis though, as you are into lots of tennis matches which dont include the big 4, as me. Its not that many in here that are like that. So dont change
After joining the leagues this forum is even better. Its so much fun. But boring when its no leagues going onI stay for the quality posters, and the match threads. I've actually learned quite a lot from some here, unfortunately you have to dig through the crap to find it at times.
65 consecutive slam appearances for Federer and 50 for Djokovic; I believe they have earned the right to do as they please when it comes to what tourneys they decide to compete in.Federer only skipped the clay season because of injuries and age.
Did I miss something? Is sitting out the grass season not exactly what Nadal did this year? I can't remember seeing him this year, or any of the 5 years past. I was under the impression Nadal had stopped playing on grass.
.....
Sorry, this might irritate a few posters, but everone is scared sh*tless of Rafa on clay, and rightfully so.
No one is scared of late 30's Fed on grass. Back in the day, perhaps... Maybe.
.
Look at it this way: Serve is 100% better, and his BH is a killer weapon now, which means he doesn't need to run around to hit an unreliable BH (as it used to be the past couple of years). That is a huge asset on grass. One of the worst things you can do on grass is needing to run around your BH. Recipe for failure.
But I'm not saying Nadal is a favorite. Just that if he makes it to the 2nd week, all bets are off.
Unfortunately Rafa has made it to the second week in both 2014 and 2017, but to no avail.Nadal just needs to reach the second week of Wimbledon, then he is unstoppable !!! You all know that.
Just as this great poaster said a few weeks ago.
What happened in 2014 ? Must have been Noel !Unfortunately Rafa has made it to the second week in both 2014 and 2017, but to no avail.
Myth busted.
It was Kyrgios in the 4R. Sorry to tell you that, mate. What happened in 2014 ? Must have been Noel !
Injuries are not really the problem for Nadal at Wimbledon. He was just lucky to win what he has.
You think those 180 points have positioned him nicely to get to #1? He'd have been better off playing and reaching the Hamburg final.Still, those points helped a lot, he's now nicely poised to take #1.
What a joke. He sat out Wimbledon 2009 because he was pissed off at losing to Soderling (don't mention "injury," there was none). He declined to play Wimbledon in 2004 and 2016 as well. He's sat out Wimbledon 3 times in the 14 years he's been eligible to play it!Rafa is a fighter, a bull, the greatest warrior in tennis. Your idea wouldn't even cross his mind.

Nadal won't ever do that. Federer made a decision and it worked out for him but nonetheless it was strange to see a great legend seemingly throw the white flag against his greatest rival. The intelligent thing for him would be to sit out the grass court season - to save himself from injuries and knowing he has little chance of competing for Wimbledon in his old age (in fact, he hasn't been a threat at Wimbledon for 6 years).
Federer did the same for clay and it seemed to work out well for him. I think Nadal should at least consider the same for grass. What do you reckon?
Are you his doctor? If not please don't make absurd guesses about the reason why Nadal didn't play. He said he was injured. End of story. What a joke. He sat out Wimbledon 2009 because he was pissed off at losing to Soderling (don't mention "injury," there was none). He declined to play Wimbledon in 2004 and 2016 as well. This is speculation supreme. What a joke. He sat out Wimbledon 2009 because he was pissed off at losing to Soderling (don't mention "injury," there was none). He declined to play Wimbledon in 2004 and 2016 as well. He's sat out Wimbledon 3 times in the 14 years he's been eligible to play it!

Usain Bolt is old in sprinting terms and Declassie (I think that's his name) is the new big thing and 200m is his pet event. I doubt Bolt will skip the 200m even if he is on current form nowehere near his rivals level. It's not generally why the greats in sport do.
Nadal will keep playing Wimbledon. As he should do. Players owe the paying punters a responsibility to turn up.
Federer fans should find another name for it, La Decima is Spanish isnt it? What is it in German? If Federer is 100% healthy entering Wimbledon next year, Rafa should skip. No need to wreck his body on grass in a futile attempt to win a title there. Let Roger have his Wimbledon 'La Decima'.
When has he ever done anything in the second half of the season after a disappointing showing at the French? Low on confidence sounds about right. What a joke. He sat out Wimbledon 2009 because he was pissed off at losing to Soderling (don't mention "injury," there was none).
Federer won two majors on fast surfaces, Wimbledon should be fast of course but the AO was considerably lower bouncing and quicker than ever before.Another 'new' poster. Sure you are mate. The pro-Federer argument has grown much stronger this year and people don't like it. Are you one of the fakestorians by any chance?

So we actually have learnt nothing new. Federer has always been in this generation the best fast low bouncing court player..by a distance.
He decided to totally avoid his worse surface. If the USO is not speeded up and the bounce deadened will he even play?
A Nadal v Federer USO final on courts that are medium paced as they usually are in New York would be the true litmus test match.
Are you his doctor? If not please don't make absurd guesses about the reason why Nadal didn't play. He said he was injured. End of story.
He has only eight last I counted. So he needs two more, not one.If Federer is 100% healthy entering Wimbledon next year, Rafa should skip. No need to wreck his body on grass in a futile attempt to win a title there. Let Roger have his Wimbledon 'La Decima'.
He sat out WO 2009 so we can keep on saying he only loses when injured. It was the aura that had to be protected.
And you ARE his doctor? Do tell.
It's not an "absurd guess" as to why Nadal skipped 2009 Wimbledon. Nadal cited "chronic tendinitis" as to why he with didn't play, yet he showed up rarin' to go two weeks later on HC's in Toronto and made it to the QF''s. Anyone with "chronic tendinitis" doesn't make this particular choice. And that is the end of that particular story.
What is grass season in the modern era? Sit out for one week, two weeks... three weeks, max, if you're a diehard.
Sorry, this might irritate a few posters, but everone is scared sh*tless of Rafa on clay, and rightfully so.
No one is scared of late 30's Fed on grass. Back in the day, perhaps... Maybe.
Roll the dice and see what happens. What's the worst that could happen? You might lose 2-3 weeks of your life.
Hey I've tried plenty of times. Everyone has tried. Several posters had enough and gave up. Everything she types has an anti-Fed agenda. Novak and his situation is just the a means to and end as she attempts to belittle Wimbledon and anything Federer achieves there.
The number of times she's insinuated that he's taken PEDs is unfathomable.
Several of the nadal fans can't stand her and they'd easily pm you and tell you not to associate her with nadal fans.

It's what it is, but I'm not going to stop calling out awful posters for their agendas and their bitterness. When. She cried about being left alone, I suggested that she block me after she threatened to do so. After having called her bluff, she backed down and is refusing to block me. So she'll have to deal with it.
