In the market for new string

I am heartbroken to say that my favorite string of all time is almost used up. It was made by a now defunct company, so unfortunately, after my next round of restringing, I'll have to find a new go to.

I'm looking for a soft, preferably, shaped co-poly that offers good spin potential and decent or better string tension, but I'm open to any and all recommendations. I usually string at 48 lbs, and mostly play with a full poly bed. I'll list off a bunch of strings that I've used before to give some more data points on what I do and don't like.

What are you hitting? What are you liking?

Black Bear Bear Claw. They were in and out of business for I want to say two years and then the VID finally did them in. Nice folks, I had talked to them on here and Instagram a few times. Great product. I think they manufactured their own stuff, if they didn’t, I can’t figure out where they got it

That’s a deep pull! I remember them though but never got to try any of their strings. I do like supporting the smaller guys.

Love supporting the small guys, but I'm such a jerk about paying for shipping haha. Finding my new string is looking like it's going to be an expensive little adventure

Poly Tour Drive 1.25, great but only for 4hrs, softish-firm (budget-ish option)
Lynx Spin² (sold as hybrid) nice feel, softer, tension maintenance 4-6 hrs
Poly Tour Rev is real popular, kind of muted
Volkl V-Torque, slightly firm but nice feel for a shaped poly, average tension maintenance

Once you go weiss cannon ultra cable you never go back, definitely my favorite shaped spin monster string.

I was using their stuff too for the short time they were in biz. Liked it in my SV95 but suffered a lot of premature breaking so I absolutely blew through my reel. Since they went under, I went through reels of Grapplesnake Neon Hybrid, Volkl Cyclone (it was cheap), multiple of Tour Sniper and Tourna Silver 7 Tour. None of those really play much like Black Bear though.

If you want something similar, I think you'll like Toroline Wasabi (red colour) or Tru Pro (Tier One) Black Knight.

That's what I'm using currently at 44-46lbs. I get about 20ish hours of play out of before it snaps. When I run out I think I am going to try about a half dozen similar strings just to see if there is anything better. Some of the strings that have been mentioned already are on my list to try out.

Was also going to recommend tru pro(tier one) tour status, it’s shaped but not very sharp. It’s softer than black knight.
I’ve used some Tier One/Tru Pro stuff before and I think that’s first on my list. Toroline has some super solid products too. Probably going to hit a bunch of places up on Instagram and see who will give me a discount code and decide that way lol

It's a pretty soft poly. Were you using it at a higher tension?
52 at the time and in one of the Prince phantom racquets if I recall. My arm is pretty particular, so I have to find my Goldilocks zone, especially for poly. Problem easily could have been how underpowered that racquet was for me with poly in it
