Incredibly proud of myself for replicating federer today

As some may know, Fed is my favourite player. Never did I think that I would be able to do what federer has. I’m so proud. Had a match today. Our team was down 3-2 and I had the final match to get that win to earn that draw.

Started out awfully from the blocks with getting broken straight away. Think next time I will warm up my serves. Won the first set 6-3. Then was up 5-4 40-30. Match point. Opponent hits a great return (as per Wimbledon match 1st match point). I get tight. He breaks. At this point I’m just thinking ‘it’s actually going to happen isn’t it. This is going to be a repeat of Wimbledon isn’t it. He wins the second set in a tiebreak. And just like the maestro himself, I get tight and start missing and be less offensive the rest of the match. Replicated him to a tee. Absolutely perfectly. And then he wins the third in a tiebreak.

Cant believe what I did today. Honestly so chuffed. Never did I think I could ever perform at the same level as Fed. I’m getting emotional right now in fact.

You cannot gloat until you go 1 for 24 on break point opportunities.
Djoker, the greatest returner, would never do that!
:(

Did You Know?
In Federer's two defeats against Tsitsipas, the Swiss went just 1-for-24 on his break point opportunities.

That’s very true actually. I was quite clinical actually. Won 3/5 break points. Shame on me for such a unfederer like stat.

I cannot even fathom how it is possible to go 1/24 on break points playing someone at your own level.
Let alone for a GOAT like Fed. Even if the guy is serving great, you gotta convert more than one.

Hes not considered the goat for no reason is he. He does things other players can only dream of.

I replicated Rafa a few years back. Injured my wrist and shut down for the year.

Now I just need chronic knee injuries after playing on cement, but I'm sure it'll happen with age.

Makes sense. As you get older, the closer you’ll get to your peak and replace Rafa even more. Have you managed to get the bottle organising worked out yet or too difficult?

I’m not that skilled unfortunately. I had the prime opportunity to dismiss his match point saving return as a ‘lucky shot’ and that he just started slapping shots. Instead I just clapped ffs. Oh well. Got a long way to go until I can truly be Federer II

No but I already don't step on lines (old childhood thing that I still sometimes find myself doing), and ever since I switched to CK boxer briefs I get regular wedgies

I always thought Paolo Lorenzi was your fave player

Very good Padawan apprentice. You are now ready for your next Fed challenges:
