index finger knuckle pain

I don't know what I did wrong but found recently that I have index finger knuckle pain after tennis. i relaxed 3 weeks then try to exercise again then found it uncomfortable. If I play more, it would become pain again.

Does anyone know what to do? what kind of doctor should I see or any method to recover?

If I recall anything special I did before the pain, i would say I exercised some overhead and volleys. However if I play without overhead, and just forehand, it would get pain.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, I have played tennis for more than 10 years, in recent 6-7 years my forehand form is stable (maybe tried more topspin?) and racket is the same.

Mine started that way for a few weeks and then worked down the entire extensor tendon to my wrist. I can't play for a while now and was advised by the doctor to ice it 20 min/3 times every day and keep it wrapped for a week along with doses of ibuprofen. I doubt I will play for the next 3 weeks. I played four times a week for a number of weeks in a row and it was just too darn much. I am going to wait it out and just play once a week to see what happens.

Like I said, it started out as after tennis pain and progressed to hurting during playing and I let it get to a point where I couldn't hold a racquet. Stupid me ignoring it for the love of the game.
