Indian Wells 2018

My team is headed to the Nationals at Indian Wells in March. Has anyone played there? If so, any tips as far as the facility, restaurants, hotels, etc?

Slowest hard courts in the world, extremely gritty. But very tricky to play on overall. Your first impression will be its easy to play there because the courts are slow. But combined with the low humidity, some altitude, and sun baking the courts; overall it is very tricky and unique. High bounces. Best bet is to get as many practice days there as possible. You will be sore afterwards because there is no "give" on your foot plants due to the grit. Sun glare is tough. Very tough to lob in the desert because the ball flies. If you're coming from a very different climate many of your lobs will be 1-2 feet long until you adjust.

Will need higher string tensions + 3-5#. It is generally warmer there than other parts of the country unless you are from the South East, Texas or South Cal.

Wear your oldest flat soled most slippery tennis shoes. Played there a few years ago without that advice and my toes paid the price.

Slow courts with ball travelling through the air quickly because of the desert air (not at altitude, even though mountains surround the valley). Balls sail more than you would imagine.
