Good, Dudi, Julien, and O. Rochus are all playing in it. Thats a relief. But where is my beloved Kirilenko???

No worries, Mate ... Maria's no. 58!!! :D

BTW, I've noticed that she's wearing a ring on her 4th finger, left hand, which in some cultures is for the engagement/wedding ring ....... have she and Andreev tied the knot, do you know? or are they now officially engaged?

Dammit LG, steal my glory on what was to be my crowning jewel match thread

Seems as though you and LG are creating all the match threads. Can't you let others have a go!? :)

sorry, please forgive me

well, there are match threads with polls and then there are tournament threads with polls. I was bored, nothing else to do, so this is what I found out about tournament poll threads in 2010 (more on match poll threads later):

The William Sisters are not showing up again, as usual. This is a prestige tourney, but they continue to ignore. It's been 2001 when Richard William claimed racism against his daughers, but that's 9 years ago, that shouldn't be an issue anymore and they should play. If this tourney is a mandatory for all players who qualify by ranking, then everyone including the WS must play. No onr should get any special treatment.

...

Oh, hey: and when's the Hit for Haiti2 event? At the beginning, March 8th?

Friday Evening, March 12 ..... Hopefully, they'll also send some of the money to Chile for their earthquake victims.

apdzra.jpg

"Larry Ellison, who recently purchased the tournament, decided to coordinate a second Hit for Haiti exhibition after seeing the success it had at the Australian Open, where hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised for Haiti relief efforts. The event will feature 44 Grand Slam titles on the same court with Roger Federer and Pete Sampras playing Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi. The event will be broadcast live on the Tennis Channel beginning at 7:30 PM PST. "

Et tu, Outbeyond? My cybersoulmate? xD

Yes, indeed, my cybersoulmate DG...I need to get a life, too...hah! But at least I've varied it a little: got into the Olympics in a big way, thrilled by Apolo Ohno's sly smile and clever moves in short track and the amazing figure skating by Kim Yu-Na and the fantastic full-body-face-flat-ice-sprawl across the finish line by the determined German speed skater. That and so much more - loved it all!!!

Sigh...so back to tennis. LOL! Not quite so noble but a most comfortable obsession. :)

Damn, I really hoped to see Delpo play in IW already..oh well..better to heal up then show up and stink and worsen his injury I guess...I hope he recovers completely.

Why is Santoro still playing? I thought he was quitting after the AO!?

He was still on the ranking system as of the entry date (January 26th) so that he could play the AO. IW automatically enters the top 79 players so he was on the acceptance list. He withdrew at the end of the AO. He will slowly fall off the rankings as each week goes by so I doubt he will be auto entered into anymore events (not sure if he got into Miami, but if he did he's already been replaced).

I could not agree more.

I mean it has been 9 years, come on for FFS, just move on and deal with it but NOOOOOO!!!

This is one of the reason why I'll never like WS as much as Henin, Clijsters, Sharapova to a certain degree because of BS liek that.

I'm sorry but WS should be fined for pulling bullcrap like that.

if i remember correctly, Serena was fined 1/3 of her year end bonus for ranking (i think it was 1.2 million for her), venus was also fined 1/3 but since her ranking wasnt as high the amount was smaller.

and this is on topic to Indian Wells how?

after all, as his transvestite wife, shouldnt you be a bit more protective?

btw, how did you crop the image? :?:

Selective screenschots (Mac OS X) Well, he IS falling apart. Good as ever, though. It is related by being the top entries. Belluchi in the Top 32 now...

All I'm saying is that whoever you are whether you're Federer,Serena, Nadal, Murray, etc... if you pull out of a MS for no reason whatsoever (personnal issues in the case for the Williams Sisters) like they should be fined every single year (like for 9 years in a row to skip that event is absolutely disgusting).

You have to admit whether you're a Williams Sister fan or not, what are they doing to the IW MS is absolutely rubbish.

I should know this, but I don't: What's the rule? Which are the mandatory tournaments? And are the WS the only ones who do it?

IOW, obviously all players s/b treated equally, and if they are not it is very, very unethical.

otoh, IW seems to do just fine without them! :D
Still, if those are the rules, then they need to be fined every, single year -- same as anybody else would be.

Source please?
I remember Richard said he would take it to court if his daughters were to get fine/suspension.

Shahar Peer was involved with racism in Dubai, but she did not boycotted the the tourney. Why? Because she doesn't think boycotting is going to solve the problem. Serena refuses to attend IW isn't going to change IW either. She's doing it simply b/c she think she's bigger than the sport.

To be honnest LG, I don't like the WS that much but are they expected to be popular and loved by millions in America if they decide to treat the IW MS like a f**k all event like that.

Had the incident would of occured @ USO for instance, would they do a no show like IW or Rogers Cup(mostly Venus that hates Rogers Cup)?

I mean I know deep down inside Federer dislikes the Paris Indoor Masters but he still shows up even though he doesn't give a damn about that event (although he should).

If I were the owner of IW, I would seriously rip a new one to the Williams Sisters. I mean they draw ratings for the WTA (as much as I hate saying this) and this is a serious kill buzz.

Whatever it's their lives not mine but I'll never respect anyone who treats events poorly over something that happened in the past.
