Indian Wells - BNP Paribas Open - ATP 1000

Who will add the Champion 1000 points to his ranking?

"Two Americans, Robby Ginepri and Ryan Harrison, join Moya and Nalbandian as wildcards in the men’s field. Ginepri, a former top 20 ranked player who reached the US Open semifinals in 2005, has three career titles on his resume. Harrison, a rising 17-year old star, played in his first Grand Slam event at the Australian Open earlier this year, falling in the first round in five sets. Two years ago he became the tenth player in the history of the ATP World Tour to win a main draw match before his sixteenth birthday and currently he is the youngest player in the top 300. There remains one more men’s wildcard to be awarded."

Those of us who saw the Doubles Final at Delray Beach last week saw Ryan Harrison in action as Talor Dent's parter vs. the Bryan Bros. Lookin' good! Hopefully he can make a statement beyond the first round at IW this year! :)

Yes, yes, OK, you'll get that special place in heaven! :) But not only for having prepared that sweet list for us, but for offering that genuinely funny quote from Douglas Adams...LOL....

(yawn) And I've been SO BORED this week with my Olympics-withdrawal-pains and not much worth watching in tennis...but now there's Indian Wells - and Davis Cup Serbia/USA!!!! 'Am slowly coming alive again, DG...a good thing! Bring it back - bring it on!!!

Nadal is on steroids. And done. And a bad person who persents himself as lovable for marketability. There, I brought it on. I wanna see Ollie with the upset. Love him so much! And LOL I'm american but for Serbia.

5-6 headcase. So much wasted talent. Game exactly like Federer's just a bit weaker and serve not as bad as you'd think. King of losing 40-0 games.

Won a dubs slam

I think he probably needs to play to do that. Just an opinion. :???:

all I meant by that was to point out the difference between what is called in logic a necessary vs. a sufficient condition. iow, you wrote "Kolya will have a shot to pass delPo if he plays"

This kind of statement is what is known in logic as a "conditional" ... IF K plays, THEN he will have a shot to pass D.

Yes. It is a necessary condition of passing Delpo for Kolya to play. BUT playing is not a sufficient condition for Kolya to pass Delpo, because he would have to play and win enough matches to add 986 points to his ranking.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's Nikolay Davydenko has pulled out of this week's Davis Cup tie against India with a wrist injury and could also miss the Sony Ericsson Open later this month.

"He is seeing doctors right now," Russia Davis Cup captain Shamil Tarpishchev told reporters during Thursday's draw after replacing the world number six with Igor Andreev for the first-round tie at Moscow's Luzhniki arena.

Davydenko, who has not played since retiring injured in the second round of the Dubai Championships last month, may have to miss the $4.5-million tournament in Miami, where he won in 2008.

"If the injury is serious enough it may take a few weeks for him to fully recover," Tarpishchev said.

The Sony Ericsson Open starts on March 24.

WTF??? No mention of IW, but he could miss Miami?

Wooo Stan's in the top 16 seeds, hope he gets a good draw. He always plays pretty decently here, the slow conditions seem to suit his long swings.

Nole or Murray win.

I don't think Novak has much chances considering he played SF in Rotterdam (hard, indoors - Europe) three weeks ago, than won in Dubai (hard, outdoors - Asia) last week, now playing Davis Cup in Belgrade (clay, indoors - back to Europe) and than he has to go to USA, playing again hard outdoors in the middle of the desert.

He won't be prepared well, especially considering his sometimes fragile health ...

I don't think Federer's participation is really doubtful anymore, given that he's already in Indian Wells practicing, and feeling good (according to him). Doesn't sound very good for Davydenko though.

How far is Michael Russell from the main Seems like he has to be the next one in

Odesnik, then Russell. There's one men's WC left open and Davydenko has not officially withdrawn yet.

Nishikori is out of the qualifying draw (which means Mike McClune is in, yay for me).

The site is wrong. The men's qualifying starts on Tuesday so the draw will be posted Monday evening. The women's draw should be posted some time tonight since they start tomorrow.

Youzhny and Wawrinka are out, Odesnik and Russell are in. Final wildcard has not been announced yet.

I'm going to be there March 16-24. Will see the 3rd, 4th, QF's, and then depending on who's left in the draw.

Who else is coming?

I'm going! I'm going to see quarters, semis, and finals, and night matches probably in the early round (I have to work while I'm there). I'm really excited, first time in IW!
