Was wondering when you were going to make this thread ;)

IIRC, the draw will be on Tuesday

Did Kosakowski win a WC into the main draw?

Full house draw!

Well Done!

I guess I can do the poll before the draw comes out, but I don't want to just include the top 8 seeds as usual. Raonic has to be in there somewhere. Del Potro? Dolgopolov? ......... Imagine that a year ago this time most of us knew very little about Dolgopolov, and now here he is the no. 20 seed! :D Delpo will prolly be lucky to make it to the quarters, but Milos prolly will for sure, right? :???:

I made my annual trip today ... watched Ivanovic practice.

She looked stunning.

Compared to last year, she dropped a lot of weight (not that she was overweight or anything), but that "baby fat" is all gone now.

Rankings Battle

0307mon001.jpg

http://www.bnpparibasopen.com/News/Tennis/2011/Tournament/ATP-Rankings-Battle-Intensifies.aspx

". . . The Serbian could replace his rival, Roger Federer, at No. 2 in the South African Airways 2011 ATP Rankings, by virtue of his performance at the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament of the year.

Djokovic, who reached a career-high No. 2 on 1 February 2010, could rank behind World No. 1 Rafael Nadal on 21 March through three different scenarios.

Djokovic will become World No. 2 if:
- He wins the Indian Wells tournament;
- He reaches the final and Federer loses before the title-match; or,
- He advances to the semi-finals and Federer loses before the quarter-finals.

Federer currently has 7,965 South African Airways 2011 ATP Rankings points compared to 7,800 points for Djokovic. ..."

She used to giggle when I pinched it...so cute. We are in love.

Nole might win this.

I remember the first year I ever heard of Indian Wells. It was 2009. I'd never even heard of the place, because I wasnt a tennis person until Rafa won wimby the summer before. I looked IW up in tennis lore. There I discovered for the first time that Djokovic had won IW in 2008 ... and I remember reading about a player named Fish, whom I thought had a funny name and was a little overweight .... long ago and far away ... Both Fishy and Nole have improved since then. Theyre not 3 years older; theyre 3 years better ... Nole really could win it again this year. Maybe IW w/b as kind (weather-wise that is) as Melbourne was this year?

Lookin forward to the draw later today! :)

Murray has been training at Crandon Park with Corretja and some Florida based pros prior to arriving at IW. Been doing four hour sessions on court then running the seven miles back to his condo.

Good to hear he's not repeating last year's mistakes. There's a big opportunity for him to hoover up some points these next 3 weeks. Last year apart, he's done pretty well at IW and Miami historically.

I didn't realize tennis had even been invented back in 2009.

I didn't realize tennis had even been invented back in 2009.

lol ... good one!

apparently, it was invented in France waaaaaay back in the 12th century, evolving from a form of handball played on an indoor court, to which racquets were later added and moved outdoors by the 1800s.

America still has a hard time getting the tennis word out to the masses until the giant corporations and billionaires like whats-his-name at IW managed to schedule it on network TV, namely ABC for 4 hours a day supposedly starting Friday ........ before 2008, the only televised matches I'd seen were the Slams ..... after all, behind the plastic curtain all that matters as sport are basketball and football and baseball ... and nothing is real until it's broadcast on the boobtube! ;)

Bye, y'all ... I'm no longer in the tournament thread business! :D

Apparently, you were the only one, Bud! :)
I'm passing the baton for future tournament threads to you and batz.

Unfortunately, Kosakowski didn't make it to the main draw...

0307mon006.jpg

Unless Batz decides to do it then, we'll go without ;)

why? youre not going without now ... I forgot to mention tennis_pro ... youre discussing it over there, and one draw discussion thread is all that's ever been needed, right? I mean, what else is the purpose of a tournament thread but to discuss the draw of the tournament? ;)

Let the discussion begin

I only create tournament threads when nobody else has or will... i.e. Kuala Lumpur

If you don't do it any more, somebody will so don't sweat it.

exactly my point!
no more "sweating it" for me ... "sweating it" would be doing a tournament discussion OP like this
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=5469015&postcount=1

why "sweat it" when you can do just as well with a "no sweat" OP like this

Methinks somebody is feeling under-appreciated :D

not really underappreciated, just responding to the truth of the situation accordingly. Notice how you haven't answered either question in my previous two posts? admittedly, the second is somewhat rhetorical, but this one isn't ...

I'd really like an answer to that one ... maybe tennis_pro knows if you dont?

mods, it's okay to delete this thread ...

If there is no logical answer to the question highlighted in magenta above, then one of these two threads is redundant and should be deleted by the mods.

This forum doesn't need extra threads, so I'm perfectly willing for this one to be the one that's deleted ... I'd rather be able to find the match threads "above the fold," so to speak, rather than having to search thru a confusion of duplicate threads and those that are about tennis pros and other off-forum topics, instead of about match results, which is the topic of this forum.

Noooooooooo Love Game! Your tournament threads are awesome! You know, some of us actually do appreciate what you do...so thank you:(

That being said, Nole should win this!

Wow Fed really got screwed in the ass. Djokovic, Murray, and Berdych. R4 clash with Raonic Yikes! This could really show just how good this new kid on the block is.

Nadal bye to finals

Djokovic 1 set lost to finals

Naturally, it's best not to have "dueling threads," but thanks for your post ... guess it can't hurt to keep posting at least till the mods delete one ... soooo here's one more (looks kinda good for Nole)!

^^^ hi, cutie pie! :)
youre right about the poll ... I should at least do the poll before it the thread gets deleted, no? Kind words appreciated ... I think i've known you longer than anybody else on here, Friend! *euro air kiss kiss*

I'm afraid your ideas about delpo not being in quite good enough fitness yet at delray might still apply here at indian wells Hope he at least makes it to the quarters b/c QF pays $76,195 -- almost the same as his payday for winning the whole shebang at delray beach! :D

Here's hoping Rafa's 100% for IW!!!
