^^^Surely, Donald Young can beat Mr. Seaweed to get into main draw tomorrow ???

Siwy does not look very tall, but he can serve bombs. He hits 115-125 mph first serves with decent percentage, and can really hit his spots (aces). Pretty good 85-95 mph second serves too. Saw him at the pre-qualifier over the weekend.

From the exho.He has the most beautiful head of hair ever

* Which exho was this? Dubai?

* This is an interesting serendipity: These two could
almost be brothers, except that the photographer has a
better nose, a less jutting chin, more prominent
cheekbones, and a fuller upper lip.

* It's also interesting that the $20 haircut isnt
significantly less attractive than the $1,000 haircut.

* This is a matter of personal taste, but the photog's hair
imo is as good as the tennis player's hair. It's as thick and
as shiney. Diffence is that the photog's hair is more
functional, doesn't have the longer, more langorously fingerable locks!

If you have the wealth, why not? Nadal's 450,000 dollar watch is not even close to being the best looking watch on the market. Heck, It is probably a colossal waste of money to even own one of those.

Ahh, but the photographer is not Fed is he? Seriously, you are comparing that nerdy looking photographer to Fed? Not feeling it, sorry.

Fed has great hair. I think it is a little too short in this picture. I prefer it a little longer, but his hair is sublime! Re the haircut thing, in my experience the better salons that charge more for a cut and color (for women in any case) are usually a lot better. If you have the change to spend, why not?

How tall is he ?? another short guy that can serve bombs. We can all learn from him.:)

I know. Conspicuous consumption and all that. In the same way that the watch doesnt look worth it, the haircut also doesnt.

And I agree with you about the watch. In fact, when I can avoid it I never "save" a picture of Rafa wearing that thing, even if I like the picture ... since the company is paying him to wear it, he gets it for free ... maybe theyre even just loaning it to him for the sake of the advertisement! :)

Youre right about that. There's only one Roger.
Just as there's only one Photog nose to nose with him in that picture.
And you haven't disputed anything I wrote.
The photographer is better looking, feature-for-feature, in the classical sense.
But so what?
Roger isnt a model. He's a multimillionaire professional athlete.
The reason the rich elites overpay for goods and services is to avoid being amongst the hoi polloi while they make their purchases.

As you may know, some people dispise the way Roger carefully fingers the longer locks of his hair as he stands at the baseline, same way some people despise the way Rafa adjusts his wardrobe as he stands at the baseline. Other people it doesn't bother at all.

I'm going totally off the block here and voting for Randy Mooray. Someone needs to mix this poll up

Andy's been kinda MIA this year ... he's got the announcers commenting about him being depressed, out of form, etc., ragging on him for not beating Nole in the AO final, etc. ....... Hope he does well here ... but not well enough to beat Delpo if they meet! :p

QUALIFIERS INTO THE MAIN DRAW

So within the first 3 rounds, which day would you guys say is probably the best to go to? Just from the aspect of wanting to watch a good amount of high quality matches regardless of who it is playing.

I hope we get to see Bogomolov and Dolgopolov matchup simply for the hilarious tongue twisting commentary.

Well, of course, the second round is the one that will have the top 32 seeds (click link) playing their first matches of the tournament.
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=5469015&postcount=1

then again, first round will have, among others:
Juan Martin Del Potro
Janko Tipsarevic
Feliciano Lopez
Lleyton Hewitt
Andrey Golubev
Milos Raonic
Ryan Harrison
Philipp Petzschner
Dustin Brown
Igor Andreev

It's all pretty darn good, u lucky person, you! :D

The reason the rich elites overpay for goods and services is to avoid being amongst the hoi polloi while they make their purchases.

This is off topic, but the reason the wealthy overpay for goods and services is
because they CAN and that is their option. However, I would say it is a misnomer that wealthy people overpay for things. In fact, the better educated and wealthier one is, the more likely one refuses to overpay for anything.

I hope we get to see Bogomolov and Dolgopolov matchup simply for the hilarious tongue twisting commentary.

LOL. I didn't even think about that. :) :)

Also, this is a poll among polls.

I think this is the first time I've seen the sort of "ranking divisions" among mid-level players and upcoming players/returnees as choices (interesting also who falls into what category).

It's also the first time I think I've seen Nole leading both Roger and Rafa.
I'm wondering how much it has to do with his TMZ coverage in Malibu, lol.

I saw shots of Roger and Rafa practicing today; did anyone see Nole practicing other than here?

^^^ who knew that tmz was even aware of Djokovic the tennis pro? I'm adding all 3 to "my pictures" ... putting them in my screensaver slideshow!

Glad you're enjoying them. I didn't even know you were into Nole - but as a friend of mine who's also a Nole fan knows, I'm pretty oblivious to anyone who's not Roger or Rafa (or Ferru or Polito, lol) -- though Sasha is kind of sneaking up on me, for sure. :-D
====

Did you see the story on Raonic? "The Missile Finds Its Mark" @ http://www.bnpparibasopen.com/News/Tennis/2011/Tournament/DEUCE-Milos-Raonic.aspx

I did see it - thought it was a great background article. Lacoste is also real happy they got him, I think.

I don't remember Rafa having gotten this much attention when he won his debut Slam, but I may also be protectively misremembering, LOL.

TBH, I'm into almost any player who looks great shirtless, for inclusion in my wall of dreams screensaver!

When was the first time you became aware of Rafa? You were already a Roger fan, but you were open-minded enough to include Rafa ... that interests me, cuz you must have been in an emotional dilemma when Rafa won wimby in 2008, no?

That was when I first got caught up on the Rafa bandwagon, not really having been aware of Roger or almost any other player at that time ... the wimby website was offering subscription of $25 for the fortnight to live coverage of eight courts along with downloads of all the matches filmed on them ... but by 2009 they no longer made subscriptions available to USA :(

I too have been a little surprised at the lightning speed of the PR campaign for Milos. Whoever represents him hasnt wasted a second or missed a trick. Only thing they haven't done yet is establish a website for him!

ooooo ... I hope that left knee wrap doesn't mean Nole's got the patellar tendinitis thing! :???:

Yeah, I worry more that all the other extracurricular activity might cause him to strain his pubococcygeus. He needs to be cautious like Fed and not strain himself.

LOL. A woman of taste. :-D

When was the first time you became aware of Rafa?

When he beat Roger in Miami in 2004. (Do you remember?)

You were already a Roger fan, but you were open-minded enough to include Rafa ... that interests me, cuz you must have been in an emotional dilemma when Rafa won wimby in 2008, no?

I was ... that was probably the most hysterical tennis day I've ever had. Literally, hysterical. I was so happy that Rafa had won his first Wimbledon and made history, and so torn that Roger had lost his chance (that time) to make history -- but they'd just both played such a magnificent match I couldn't do anything but sob from the beginning of the fifth set pretty much through the entire trophy ceremony. LOL.

Interestingly, though, the way I first started following Roger was very similar -- I was kind of a precocious little tyke, a little Andre fangirl, and I was like, "Who is this ... what is he, Swiss? ... guy who is beating Andre all the time? I mean, he's handsome, and has nice shoulders, and great legs, and great hair, and a magnificent serve, FH, and 1HBH, but ... who is he?" LOL!

Yeah ... *sigh*

Not only are you absolutely right, but they've done such a good job I didn't even notice one was missing till you just said something. LOL!

^^^ wow ... I hadnt noticed ... that's too bad! :(

he's one of those players that it's hard to get much up-to-date information about. must have something to do with his playing two 5-set matches (both of which he won) in the davis cup group 1 last week.

Yeah, I worry more that all the other extracurricular activity might cause him to strain his pubococcygeus. He needs to be cautious like Fed and not strain himself.

lol  ....... hahaha ... except remember how Fed was crying at AO 2009? Wasn't that just after we all found out that he hadn't been quite cautious enough? ;) ... edit to add: and come to think of it, the exercise of the PCG can also be hard on the knees! I wonder whether Jelena is with him this trip?

Knee tendonitis for Nole? He never suffered from this when he was younger.

Americans and their tv coverage of non-American sports.

Orleans Challenger and Bergamo Ch. have spectacular web streaming compared to this.

Exactly I've heard he's big into the nightclubs. He's getting a little to much of the bang bang jiggy jiggy if you know what i mean.

He's beaten Feli Lopez a couple of times. Not sure what Lopez's ranking was at the time.

I was there 2 years ago i think it was when DY beat Lopez in an absolute windstorm. Lopez was pissed and wanking, it was funny.

Rob_C, you gonna be around on Sunday?

I think Nadal wins this one to make a statement and remind everyone who's the boss of the tennis world at the moment.

I can't see Fed beating Novak after the last two efforts. Fed's performances in the IW/Miami combo for the last 4 years were pretty ugly.
