Sakkari beat Swiatek last year at RG. Women's game is so unpredictable (unpredictable in a bad way) that it's a case of who gets out of bed the right side in the morning will win the match.

It could be worse - tennis could be stagnant for the last decade like on the men's side - with the same game over and over televised on TV. If you saw a final in 2007, you saw the same final in 2017.
Thank God the old guard are waning. Now we can see something new.

Good job, Iga, defeating two former world #1's on the way to the title. An excellent match unless you are some moron with a keyboard and more time than sense on your hands.

Possibly you could make an argument that Sakkari should have done better. Swiatek though worked out the conditions very well after the first 3 games, or at least learned how to mitigate the situation.

She is becoming a very dogged, intelligent match player. Already 1 slam but I'm possibly more impressed with the 3 Masters titles. At only 20, that speaks to consistancy that is rare on the tour. We haven't hit the clay this season yet, where usually she's even better.
