About to start.
Okay, I'm just blogging at http://iw2006.blogspot.com/. But I'll be giving a lot of detail if anyone is interested. Players are warming up now.
Match on! Let's do it!
Both players hold 1-1
Nadal breaks Gosjean early now 2-1
4-1 Nadal, up 2 breaks.
5-1 Nadal, Nadal is having an easy time.He is getting his first serves in.
Told you, I'm not surprised at all!
Bags will be a challenge, thats for sure.I am impressed at how Nadal has progressed.
Grosjean showing life..breaks Nadal now 5-3
Alright! Lets go Grosjean!
If you like that you'll love this...Grosjean holds now 5-4
U wont love this:mrgreen: , 6-4 Nadal, takes the first set.I wanna see Bags vs Rafa, thats why i am rooting for Nadal.
Rafa turned his ankle, and they taped it up. So we'll see how that goes for him. It's his right ankle.
So do I...but I love the underdogs!
Grosjean up a break 2-0 in the second, is Rafa's ankle hurt that bad?
I would prefer a Bags/Rafa match as well, but if Rafa should lose I could live with it
Hey Shabazza, i wanna see another Rafa vs Fed match, i just want Fed to get payback.
Rafa gets the break back, 2-1, on serve.
I don't think so. It didn't looked bad and the doctor said it's nothing bad really. I just think the injury timeout got him out of his "zone" and gave Grosjean the time he needed to recover and find his game, cause he played awful in the 1. set!
I wouldn't mind a Rafa vs Fed final either ( I sure want him to turn that h2h around), but just for the sake of revenge...there are many favs of mine in Rafas draw. I could live with Bag or Haas in the final as well.
Rafa breaks, up 3-2 in the second set.
I thought u meant Grosjean up 5-3....
Oh hell just give him the title.....
Rafa up 5-2, 2 breaks, about to serve for the match.
Its over...Nadal wins 6-4 6-2...Im gone...!
As expected, Rafa beats Grosjean, 6-4, 6-2
Rafa lost focus for a couple games, probably thinking about the foot. I saw the replay where he turned the ankle, and he did turn it. Hopefully it's not serious.
He's scheduled to play doubles shortly against Grosjean and Gasquet. But I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa withdraws from that as a precaution.
I'll let you know.
I think he should withdraw, if he still feels some pain. But if he plays the doubles I would say this twisted ankle isn't serious. He just got sloppy at the end of the first and beginning of the 2nd set. I believe he has to step his game up against Baghdatis.
First time I'll root against Nadal, while he isn't playing Fed.
He pulled out of doubles. It's mostly a precaution, and I think it was the right decision.
Hey VamosRafa, do u know anything on the Safin match, i heard Safin might have had an injury.
I didn't stay for Safin's interview, as I went to Rafa's, and then I saw him later. Rafa seems to be fine. It definitely is a precaution.
I'll look for Safin's interview transcript. BRB.
It's a fairly long interview, and he talks about the rehabilitation process. Doesn't sound like there's any new injury or anything. I can't absorb it now as I have to update the Nadal site, and I'm going to follow Haas/Blake. But Marat doesn't sound discouraged or anything.
