Players on court! Robbie Koenig, Jim Courier and ex-pro (now commentator) Gilles Mueller have all picked Sinner in straights. Fergus in the chair.

Expecting a very good match, could be one of the best. This is the best conditions for Alcaraz, probably his best tournament with Madrid. No idea who wins. One of them in 3.

Have to leave in exactly one hour, so come on boys let’s have a barnstormer of an opening set. Vamos Carlos, I’m on your side - though I expect Jannik will eventually prove too much.
Sinner's only been beating scrubs and Shelton (not a scrub not nowhere near elite).
And what did Sinner do at the AO? Beat a version of Djokovic that Djokovic says is the worst he can remember playing, and went down 2 sets to Medvedev and only won because Med's forehand slowed down with 6hr fatigue.
If Alcaraz plays anywhere near his best, Sinner has no chance.
Lost faith in Sinner last year when Djokovic destroyed him 63 63 in the Final of ATP Finals, because Sinner was in peak form during that period...
