Individual and doubles bracket

Novikov got screwed when this moved indoors. I would ask for appeal. big serving Kobelt definitely got the advantage with indoor tennis. first the racket hit the net then now this ??

Novikov also has the disadvantage of not closing out @theotherkobe in the 2nd set breaker.
Would anticipate he is running on fumes after 3 straight tough days of tennis.

I am watching the cameras. My son is scheduled to play this afternoon. Looked like it rained. Are they running behind schedule? Have they moved some matches indoors. If so, which facility & I will look for cameras there too.

If your son is Sarmiento or Andrews then he is playing indoor. Sadly no video just stats.

Mikej is going to flip if Redlicki beats Giron. Saving it all for the individual event rather than for the team.

Yep would have been mad if he'd gotten AA status after bombing for the team recently

Fortunately giron has way too much fitness, heart, mental game etc to ever lose to a guy like redlicki

Glad to see Cunha dominating the last 20something games he has played after the 0-4 hole first rd - if he cares as much as the Americans who can get the WC, and today's performance seems to indicate he might want to give it his all in his final attempt, he's going to be a very tough out

Going to take someone with a big game like Rola having a great day to outhit him, no one will outgrind him, though Jenkins and Frank are right there in that category as well if they eventually play

Nope, not him. Mine goes to an East Coast University. South East. So then they are all just sitting around waiting for a court to open up? Seems odd to have the men's and women's at the same location, same time. Distracting

If you are referring to doubles, those won't start till later. And they should be outdoors. Otherwise your son has probably already finished his match.

so 5 alternates got in this year(Alcorta,Johnson,Contini,Sarkissian,Webb). That is a lot, usually it's no more than 2.

Singh,Kawka,Paval,Pradella and Marksoo are the players who did not take their spot in the draw. I wonder why Paval and Pradella didn't participate.

cunha up an early 3-0, having won 28 of last 33 singles games played in this event

keep it up dude, and congrats on the ita's national arthur ashe award, well deserved

cunha continues to roll - 6-1, 3-0 up two breaks in second

bring on rola (who will be much more rested since he's not playing doubles also, but whatever)

great match b/t sarmiento and jenkins - got my money on jarmere in what should be a great ending - his speed caused a few untimely errors in the first set tb when ray tried to do too much with some offensive shots, tried to make a drop volley too good, etc...might see a repeat if there's a third set tb

Now that's a win Soren! Amazing he is finding the form now.

There was recently some news feature in the local (Champaign) news about Soren and his brother, who plays for UNC. Had not heard of them before. Obviously, he's pretty good if he's made the QFs. Has he generally been this good during his time at TX?

Could be injuries. We know how poor many schools are about disclosing info regarding tennis. Could be discipline. Could be just about anything. I've heard of a senior who was a very solid player on a major conference team that was just kind of burned out on tennis and didn't feel like sticking around for the individual tournaments. His team didn't even make the final 16, so it was another close to two weeks of hanging around to go and play in the event.

That's a pretty sad state of affairs

Should be a great quarterfinal with Rola vs. Cuhna this afternoon.
Unbelievable to see what Henrique has done in the last 2 rounds:
Held his serve 13 out of the last 13 games,
Broke elite level opponent's serve 11 out of 13 games.

Jarmere Jenkins just hit the shot of the tourney. He's now in the semis of singles &dubs

Will there not be any video since it went indoors?

Jenkins vs Rola in the finals. That's my prediction. I just hope Jenkins can beat Rola if they both get there. I would love to see Jenkins get to play the open.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll make it out to the final day after all. I need to get back up to the suburbs to buy a car. A little bummed, but I'm going to the Winnetka Challenger and Cincy this summer so it's not so bad.

Has anyone ever been to the USTA Junior Nationals at Kalamazoo? Recommended from a spectator perspective?

I would recommend checking out the college summer circuit also which should be played near you I expect (I only go to the Indiana ones so Im not sure exactly who hosts). Few big names play but once they hit the latter stages they are worth watching.

at 3-5 down virginia is in trouble of losing the first set. the match is going indoors now due to rain

should help uva
