Kobelt about to take Novikov to a 3rd set
Novikov got screwed when this moved indoors. I would ask for appeal. big serving Kobelt definitely got the advantage with indoor tennis. first the racket hit the net then now this ??

I am watching the cameras. My son is scheduled to play this afternoon. Looked like it rained. Are they running behind schedule? Have they moved some matches indoors. If so, which facility & I will look for cameras there too.
Mikej is going to flip if Redlicki beats Giron. Saving it all for the individual event rather than for the team.
Nope, not him. Mine goes to an East Coast University. South East. So then they are all just sitting around waiting for a court to open up? Seems odd to have the men's and women's at the same location, same time. Distracting
If you are referring to doubles, those won't start till later. And they should be outdoors. Otherwise your son has probably already finished his match.
He's in doubles. I guess I'll just keep clicking on the bizzillion cameras.
Of the last 16 in the men's singles, who is American (i.e. eligible for the USO MD WC if he wins)?
On court 6 Mississippi have a guy that looks like a Viking warrior.
Now that's a win Soren! Amazing he is finding the form now.
Cotrone/Davis could win this whole event.
so 5 alternates got in this year(Alcorta,Johnson,Contini,Sarkissian,Webb). That is a lot, usually it's no more than 2.
Singh,Kawka,Paval,Pradella and Marksoo are the players who did not take their spot in the draw. I wonder why Paval and Pradella didn't participate.
Could be injuries. We know how poor many schools are about disclosing info regarding tennis. Could be discipline. Could be just about anything. I've heard of a senior who was a very solid player on a major conference team that was just kind of burned out on tennis and didn't feel like sticking around for the individual tournaments. His team didn't even make the final 16, so it was another close to two weeks of hanging around to go and play in the event.
Pretty cool that they play a full 3rd set in doubles tournament. The pros don't even do that at 250 events.
yup
or 500 events
or 1000 events
only slams
And best of 5 in one slam (they still do that at Wimbly right?)
Forget the champions league , the real German battle is Mies vs Fanselow
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll make it out to the final day after all. I need to get back up to the suburbs to buy a car. A little bummed, but I'm going to the Winnetka Challenger and Cincy this summer so it's not so bad.
Has anyone ever been to the USTA Junior Nationals at Kalamazoo? Recommended from a spectator perspective?
