how many of u was influence to play tennis becuz of the anime prince of tennis?
i started to play cuz it seems fun wif my buddys and all at our skools tennis club but later they showed me this anime and i got so into tennis now LOL!

I was totally influenced by PoT!!!!!!

So far I have perfected the Boomerang Snake shot and Drive B.

I am working on my Zero Shiki Drop shop (VERY HARD!!!!!) and my Tezuka zone is pretty good!!!

Drive A is hard!!!!!! but Moon Volleys are so noobish!

i think i gotten the jacks knife a very flat shot i usually play in doubles so i use it often

My daughter said I had to answer on this poll, as it's one of her favourite anime shows, plus I really think it's encouraged her to play more tennis again...or at least to practice.

Kunimitsu Tezuka was her top favorite.

well tezuka does promote hard work wif his "Hyakuren Jitoku No Kiwami/the pinnacle of hard work" so hope ur daughter keeps on working hard to improve her tennis

You should drop the ' and set a good grammar example for her ;)

Unless you meant to say "I really think it is encouraged her...."

As with many on these boards, english is not my first language, not even 2nd, its my third. Very sorry you feel the need to correct that error or to make fun at something so minor.

Thanks Ethan, my daughter was watching an episode of Prince of Tennis online when I directed her over to your question, she was quite excited to see it.

And yet you still "had da moves" (and the eloquence) to contribute a Longfellow poem into the "Word Association" thread? I am impressed. If English is indeed your "3rd" language, what are your primary and secondary languages?

Russian, German, then English, but as a writer, at the moment, I usually write in English, though my editor has a red mark 'field day' on manuscripts, no kidding. Certain things are harder lose than others, for example... it's, its, it is, here/hear, there/their...it can be a problem. But usually I will edit myself here at least 1 or 2 times because I find I've incorrect grammar. I missed that one though LOL

influenced but not driven. Prince of Tennis is more of making people get interested in tennis but later on as you play you'll see how different real tennis is as compared to the anime :D Ever seen world number ones do all those showy moves?

...everything that is wrong with American tennis, summed up in one thread.
LOL, exactly. High five!!!

I was not making fun, sorry if you got that impression.

I was correcting only because it's a common mistake (common enough that I saw a thread here about it).

Peace.

Well, the only reason I responded directly because I was curious of the need to correct someone on a minor error, you don't know them, their background or anything, and you weren't even answering on the thread's question anyway. What was the point? There was no heat in my reply whatsoever just a slight bewilderment, it's an international board. (I got that one right LOL)

Otherwise, the anime show is about entertainment, anyone who really plays tennis knows most of the stuff is extreme and overplayed, but that's the fun of it. Totally crazy stuff that happens on it, even if some things try to reflect situations that have happened in tennis...i.e. the coach character who gives a noxious concoction to players and makes them ill. It's not a show giving lessons. And how it is example of what's wrong with American tennis? It's a Japanese show.

Russian, eh? I don't know how to spell this; I can only try and fake it phonetically:

Zhen-sha-na Putt-krass-nia.

Btw, I am assuming you're a woman, correct? If not, please IGNORE my lame attempt at "pronouncing" Russian. LOL.

Wow, i made this thread so that ppl could relate their tennis with the anime and talk about the anime, but there seems to be a big debate over my grammer mistake from earlier. LOL

If a cartoon was your influence for playing tennis, I think you would be better off keeping this under your hat. Otherwise, this admission makes you look like a moron, and you wouldn't want that, would you?

I've seen the cartoon a couple times. It's shiate.

I know it's just me, but I think any reason to start playing tennis is a good reason. This person is 16 years old from their profile information, and most of the ones I know that age are into animè in some form, why not a sports comical show instead of hentai? LOL I've watched parts of it a few times myself, it's nothing I would watch regularly.

Even a teenager can be a moron. Hentai blows that stuff away. I recommend that all kids watch some of that instead of the lame Prince of Tennis.

HAHA you realize, Phil, that it is exactly this kind of sentence that makes a kid go, "what's _______?" and go look it up on google.

About the topic: I used to watch it, and I was kinda like, "this is odd." Then I tried a kick serve and decided to learn it. It gets lamer and lamer as you go along, unfortunately.
