Initiating serve from the right toe

treo

Semi-Pro
Not literally, but using that as a trigger to start the uncoiling motion. Many people are thinking about using the shoulders, arm and wrist to serve without thinking about first uncoiling the legs, hips, and torso. Using the right toe as a starting point, I find that I can have the kinetic chain uncoiling from the bottom up with the arm motion like an after effect of the torso uncoiling. I've been trying this with my forehand but been having trouble keeping my eye on the ball since my chest opens towards the net sooner. It works well with my 2hbh, initiating the swing from my left toe. It's the brief lag when your torso uncoils before the arm swings where extra power is generated.

I always thought the back foot was the uncoiler with the platform stance, and the hips were the uncoilers of the pinpoint stance.

What I am confused about, is that you're talking about forehand and backhand, while also talking about the serve?
