Insoles!!

I'm still unsure about what insoles to use in my Barricade Vs. I need really good cushioning as I play on hardcourt and am coming back from a herniated disc. I've been using a pair of Sorbothane Double Strike (the newest model)

Though I'm not sure how effective these are. I've used them before in walking shoes and they were really good. They apparently absorb up to 95% of shock (by dissipating it, sideways?) and have some arch support. The only problem is, they are quite a thick, squishy insole, they raise the heel up quite a bit and I read you get more effective cushioning through a supportive insole, like Superfeets.

The barricades are quite firm - I remove the original sockliner and can see the darker circle of the adiprene in the heel (I have the white/black barricade) but its really firm with like no give. So I would like the feel of something softer. Sorbothane are quite squishy and comfortable but I wonder how this works in conjunction with your shoe's midsole as it just squishes outwards and this probably compromises support and more effective cushioning.

These insoles fit quite well but as I said raise the heel up a bit so you don't get as deep a feel which makes me tempted to go back to the original sockliner! My physio never recommended me orthotics but just said get something with lots of cushioning (never had any feet/arch issues) I've been tempted to go for the Superfeet Orange but have my reservations because they're quite pricey, look quite chunky and firm, and the support might be a bit overkill. I don't want to tip the weight over either, as these insoles I have now are fairly light and don't make my barricades too heavy.

I've seen some Sofsole products which look quite good too, but most people seem to recommend the Superfeets. Or should I just stop worrying about it and stick with the Sorbothanes?? Why oh why don't they put in a good insole to start with?

Thanks!

Some insoles come with a no-quibble guarantee. Superfeet is one of them; I think it's 60 days.

The only way you'll find out which brand suits you best is to try them. If you start out with those where you can get a refund, then you can't really go wrong.
