Interesting case Iga Swiatek

Smecz

Professional
Hello :)

Apparently Iga is an introvert?!,so how come Iga comes out and plays in front of such huge stands?!

Maybe she's not an introvert, but an ambivert?!

Or maybe sport allows an introvert to become an extrovert?!

I am an ambivert myself, but in everyday life I am more of an introvert,
however, ont he court with the weaker player, the more extroverted I am...

It's possible that these are some safety issues, when a person becomes more confident, the more bold he is...

What do you think about this?!

Very strange thread. I hope you’re ok.

Iga's confidence comes from her skill and knowing how good she is. She is indeed an introvert as we can make out from the way she speaks, but like I said introverts can also face crowds in the flow even if thats not their natural instinct.

Playing in front of people is just about doing it over and over and getting used to it.

Introverts can have confidence. Introverts can have boldness.

Introverts prefer not interacting with people. Tennis players don't have to interact with a crowd, they can just ignore the crowd and tune them out.

Confidence can make you bold. Sometimes it doesn't. Everybody is different. And it depends on the situation.

Maybe is strange, but this is crazy, she is calm and subdued on a daily basis, but on the court she is aggressive and attacking...

Maybe her psychologist helped her with this transformation?!...

Maybe extroversion or greater courage on the court also helped many players win?!...

For example, if Guillermo Coria would have won the French Open in 2004, if at the right moment he had been more adventurous and courage instead of playing rallies...

All right,a lot of trues,
but I guess each of us is a person who is very extrovert and often achieves success in whatever he does...

I also know a tennis player who is an extrovert in everyday life and on the court, practically everywhere.!!

And I noticed that it's easier for him to win on the court, and he plays in general. XD

If Iga played in a more introverted way, it is possible that she would not have won the 4th French Open, after all, she dominates these players!!!

Being socially introverted doesn't correlate to playing tennis shyly with no aggression and no boldness. Playing tennis with aggression and boldness is due to attaining a skill level that allows you to play that kind of tennis while executing it at a very high percentage. It has nothing to do with how you interact with people.

Good points, but The crowd can also intimidate an introvert or make his game worse, the behavior of another player can also make the introvert's game worse...

I've been to tournaments, and I know that the crowd can influence the results on the court...

I know that an introvert and an extrovert can have different effects on an unfriendly crowd...

However, an extrovert can probably cope better in situations when the crowd is against him.!!

Yes, that can be the tendency. But being an introvert doesn't mean they cannot be mentally tough. Extroverts can melt down due to crowd hostility. Introverts can tune out this type of noise. You are making correlations that are sometimes true, but often not true. Humans can have all different types of combinations of characteristics. Sometimes they don't make sense. Sometimes things you think go together, don't necessarily go together.

Exactly. I am incredibly introverted, but when I have a task at hand I am fierce. Some players might like and even benefit from engagement with the audience. I tune it all out and focus on the ball. I would choose to skip a press conference or trophy presentation because of my being introverted, but that wouldn't stop me from getting the championship trophy.

Correct thinking, but extroverts are often better situation on the court,
, self-confidence and the desire to dominate, and charisma often fade introverts on the court, I have often seen such matches.!!

And yes, there are different personalities or mixtures of them, but there are matches where a person with worse skills wins against a better player, thanks to his way of being on the court. (Especially in amateur matches)

Same here.

Yes, those can all be true. They can also not be true.

Extroverts are often highly narcissistic. They have a constant need for attention. They thrive on positive and negative attention. They prefer positive, but negative still feeds them. But narcissists hate being criticized. Crowds often do that. Narcissists will melt down, implode, self destruct when criticized.

Your correlations do not really go together. If you said introverts like to stay home. I would say, yes, you're right. If you said narcissists cheat on their significant others. I would say, yes, they do, almost without exception. Your correlation of introverts playing tennis without aggression isn't really a correlation.

Yes or not, but usually, failure may result in closing oneself off from the world (introversion),while victory causes openness to the world (extroversion)!!.

Look at Swiatek, last time she is more extroverted, because she is succesful.!!!

This is not interesting and it is not a case.
