Interesting podcast

They talk about Djokovic's demeanour during the final, and how he was "depressed".

What amazes me about this podcast, which I have been listening to it for a while now, is how the commentators (David Law, Catherine Whitaker), have started to worry about Djokovic. Catherine Whitaker simply never gave him much praise, but now seems "worried" about his state of mind. Unbelievable.

I have said before, for all the criticism Djokovic received in the past, from commentators and fans alike, that once his decline starts, they will miss him when he is gone.

Like you didn't feeled sorry for Federer all those years when his ass was handed by Nadal or now when he hadn't won Slam for almost 5 years now. Come on man, it's a normal reaction! ;)

Basic human empathy, you know. Djok is clearly uncomfortable inside as well as outside, and it's not pretty to watch. I don't wish him to win, but I would rather he found happiness again, win or lose.
Slams are the most important thing for him in this moment. His whole career is one big rollercoaster result wise, play wise and especially mentality wise. I'm pretty sure he will be back stronger next year, competing with real chance at the tournaments that really matters for him, the Slams...

I don't see it man. I really don't. I'm starting to see that he is depleting physically. The weight loss is what is on main concern. If it was just mental, I would not be too worried.

Tell me why you see it ?

So Wimbledon and the USO didn't matter to him this year? He had a chance to complete the CYGS for crying out loud!

LOL, you sound like a desperate loon. Do you think he or anybody knows what will happen or what is going on with Djokovic?

Oh really. See the praise Lendl gets these days ? People are more excited to see him than McEnroe.

Well that's refreshing. So there's hope for Djokovic then and people will be finally happy to see him in 30 years? Swell.

How old are you ? Because I guarantee you your hate of Djokovic, will become an infatuation as you get older. I'ts called age. And with age comes maturity. And with maturity comes aknowledgment. It happened to Martina, and Lendl. It will happen to Djokovic, but sooner.

Will they miss him like you miss Federer OP?

I miss Fed more than I'd miss Nole, tbh. Because if Novak stops playing he is done for good, but while Federer is away I'm losing interest in tennis (not only Federer, but also Nadal and the lack of more exciting rivalries).

Yeah, I hope Novak finds whatever he is missing at the moment. I don't know if the break before the new season will help him (he had several breaks already), but maybe some new goals with help him to focus.

You are lecturing me about maturity? Have you seen your posts about Federer? Please! You dislike Federer a lot more than I dislike Djokovic. At least I respect Djokovic's achievements and his place in tennis history.

As for Lendl and Martina, I disliked both when they were active players and I don't much care for them now especially Martina!

OK, breath slowly, and read again what I wrote, but read the whole post this time...

You said slams are the most important thing to him. So my response to you was if slams are/were the most important thing to him what was his problem at Wimbledon and the USO when he was going for the CYGS? Does it get more important than that and yet he was MIA.

Maybe my dislike for Novak is acting as a safeguard or something but I see nothing unusual here. He's dominated the tour for 4 years or so. He's had a "rough" few months. I expect him and Murray to run the tour next season and unless Murray has the absolute best season of his career, Novak will win 1-2 majors.
