@Grapplesnake USA Official - Congrats on progressing to where you're at already! I'm sure broader market acceptance and agreements with places like TW are only a matter of time (with our help, of course).

I was wondering if you might be able to address my previous question (link) regarding testing and publishing tension maintenance and stiffness numbers (ala how Tier One does it)? Real life use is the ultimate test of quality, but publishing numbers like that, presuming they're competitive, would lend additional credibility I would think.

My apologies. I missed your question. Really, the owner doesn't like stiffness ratings too much. He provides me with the example of RPM being officially rated "stiffer" than ALU, where in real life it's not the case, at all. The reason behind this, is the fact that strings frequently have additives -such as aluminum paste-, coatings, and just different polymers that end up throwing measurements off.

The process of manufacturing Grapplesnake strings relies heavily on on-court feel with multiple players, and tinkering with the formula until it's ready. We came up with our comparative list -Liquid (softest) - Irukandji - Liquid Neon Dust - Alpha - Cube - Tour M8 - Game Changer - Tour Sniper - Excellent Purple - CES Neon Dust - Cube Extra Sharp (firmest)- to help players decide, along with descriptions in our website which are as accurate or practical as we can write them. We address durability, comfort, tension maintenance, playability duration, spin potential, control/power the best we can.

All of this being said, we have sent samples to a lab in Europe which was interested in testing all of our models. I would stay heads-up regarding that. We know that there are players out there interested in these numbers. Any new info will be added to the product description. Thanks a lot for your question.

Informational: our e-commerce platform (Shopify) is having problems for about an hour now. Not just us, but every store. This is affecting checkouts. We'll post here again once things are back up and running.

Thanks.

Tour Sniper is back in stock!
Okay so ever since my Grapplesnake string testing a couple months ago I've been trying a bunch of stuff all over the board like yonex poly tour spin, luxilon 4G, tier one black knight & firewire, mayami magic twist, polytour strike etc. All really good offerings, finally came back to my racquet tonight thats still strung with Tour Sniper and was absolutely loving it.

Its so hyper accurate compared to vast majority of strings I've used really unusual... ALU Power is the only similar string, I'd say that or polytour strike is the 2nd most accurate. Sniper is the perfect name for this string cause the crazy precision stands out more than anything else. It must be seriously low powered cause its easily taming my most powerful racquet an oversize 105 Prince Legacy O3. Primary difference between ALU Power & Tour Sniper is in feel & depth/power I believe... ALU Power seems to be far more powerful and tends to hit very deep. Tour Sniper has a nice very controlled low power response, I noticed I can easily hit very short topspin forehands with it inside service box or at service line... and then I can easily swing out more to hit extremely deep shots if I want. I actually prefer the way ALU Power feels at contact but im not sure it gives too much advantage in gameplay, and Tour Sniper feels less harsh. Very consistent response to reliably hit the way you want to constantly.

I see why one of your sponsored female pros said she uses Tour Sniper because her style is based on low unforced errors. Its perfect for that with the high precision, very consistent response, low power, and high control. Even compared to its most similar string ALU Power it still offers quite a different experience and playstyle.

I agree that mostly Grapplesnake is just lacking recognition and awareness and can compete with the top string companies in quality of product & price. Similar to Prince in having very innovative top notch products like premier control, premier touch, vortex, and Tour XC. I've seen nothing but very positive reviews on almost all your strings on here and on stringforum.

Its cool how much strings can change gameplay. I've tricked myself into thinking characteristics were caused by the racquet when it was really the string which becomes obvious when you change to a different string. I'm not even sure what is more impactful racquet or string? 50/50? And so much variety possible in strings.
As Arthur Ashe said, string is the heart of the racquet.

I finally got around to trying Grapplesnake Tour Sniper. It's really good! I don't have much to add to all the previous reviews/reports except to confirm that they're accurate. It's relatively low-powered, crisp but not uncomfortable (which is a neat trick that not many strings manage). While technically pentagonal, the edges aren't pronounced. That means spin isn't the main attraction, but I got enough. Very consistent response, great control. I enjoyed the feel. I can't comment on playability duration yet, but tension maintenance seems strong so far. I have no real complaints, except that I wish reels were more affordable :)

Nice job, Grapplesnake. I also snagged a set of Tour M8 that I'll try one of these days.

To me, the string can make or break a racquet. This is why I never rule a frame out before testing it with a handful of different strings. 50/50 to me.

We don't. Sorry.
The primary thing that comes to mind to me missing in the lineup, and also seems rare on the market in general is an extremely high snapback spin monster. The only thing that comes to mind is RPM Blast but that string is very harsh and playability fades quick. That would be awesome imo, there's already Grapplesnake Cube & Gamechanger for strings that produce a lot of spin by really grabbing the ball but no snapback monsters. Tour M8, Tour Sniper, Alpha may be good at it but not designed to be extremely spinny through very high snapback. Just a cool idea if that seems worth doing.

The whole idea behind Irukandji is to maximize snap-back by minimizing notching, which is why we gave it its unique shape, and also by making it VERY slippery!

And you are definitely correct. Try Irukandji as a cross even if you have another poly in the mains and you'll see the improvement in snap-back!

Oh awesome, after posting that I've been realizing Irukandji is the one that I still really need to try and checked out the reviews on the site someone who uses it as a cross for NG said this "This string does let the mains move freely and snap back. I had tremendous spin with that combo. The power was better than a usual gut/poly as it lets the gut work its magic to perfection." So yea maybe thats the one string you have that can fulfill what im looking for in that department. We shall see.

I believe they are aiming for this summer, but am simply not sure. I ask Germany every couple of weeks. Improving upon last year's release, and they are perfectionists.
You can tell they are perfectionists it shines through just by using the string. Like Tour Sniper feels like everything flows together so synergistically to have exactly the desired effect. Anyway enough talking more playing ;)

Update: Tour Sniper finally went dead on me at around 6-7 hours. It maintained playability nicely, and I played some decent tennis even at the end of its lifespan. I can't expect too much more from a poly. Very impressed, genuinely might switch.

Maybe I can make my own spin monster by hybriding RPM Blast mains with Irukandji crosses that sounds amazing lol. Does it produce better snapback as a cross than as a full bed for some reason?

Yes. I don't think that using Irukandji in full bed is the best way to go. Its job is to enhance the performance of the Mains with its shape, feel and smoothness.

High praise from Tennisnerd:

He's so correct low tension is perfect for Tour M8. Now on my 2nd time trying it went 30 lbs in Prince Phantom 97P, last time went 42 lbs in Pro Staff 97 v13. Already loved at 42 in v13, but 30 lbs is even much better still! Incredible effortless heavy balls with lots of control and softness. No weakness... Gonna destroy opponents with this setup now I think. I was just drop n hitting forehands & backhands and serving to test it since I'm not playing anyone today so we'll see in match tomorrow. Can't see it being anything other than amazing the Phantom and Tour M8 complement each other perfectly both have great spin, great control, great comfort...

For me at least as good as the other Grapplesnake strings are Tour M8 is still next level. I need that heavy high spin ball its so good at generating with a lot of control. Also depends on playstyle like Tour Sniper is no doubt more accurate so it doesn't make the other strings obsolete or anything...

Love how low tension gives it a lot of extra easy spin & power generation and explode off court effect without sacrificing much if any control.

Wow wow wow,

I tried Game Changer today and I got exactly that.

I am a lefty and my opponent was not happy to receive my slice serve.

It feels so plush, which I absolutely hate usually, but I can look over that because the amount of spin this string generates is insane.

every square shaped poly has to pass the Hyper G test and I think this far outshines Hyper G.

I just wish it was a little crisper.

all of all, I had an absolute blast with this string. Balls curving A LOT in the air and the bounces were unreal.

I would like to try something crisper, but that's for another time.

When I am done with this string, M8 is next!

Hello. I'm sorry but we don't have demo programs at the moment. Our goal is to keep prices as they are and raise nothing. I'm afraid that pausing demos is needed right now. Sorry.

Never know unless you ask...appreciate the immediate response, shows your dedication to the people who keep you in business (y)
Probably acquire some anyhow

Hello! First time I've heard of Grapplesnake through TennisNerds review, so it was nice to see y'all had a thread here and are active. That being said I think I'm interested in trying a string out from your company, maybe more if they fit the criteria I'm looking for. That being said I want a soft string that provides feel and touch, but also gives control and some power with the ability to add some bite for spin. It will be going into a 2021 VCore 95! So adding some power while maintaining that control would be great.

Hopefully there's a string that suits my needs and I can try it out!

Any chance of you all making a Tour Sniper style string in a thinner gauge? I love Tour Sniper but sometimes I want to go thinner. Usually that has me reaching for Silver 7 tour, but I am also going to try out some MSV CoFocus.

Hey! Not currently there. We have put our efforts into developing multiple high quality models to fit different roles in the sport, considering different playing levels/styles and frames. We still aren't ready to expand with different gauges within each model. That being said, we are pretty much done releasing new models. This could be the next step if we continue growing. Thanks for your question, and sorry.

Info!

We have updated our popular Sampler Pack to now include Tour M8, while also increasing the savings percentage of the overall pack and including free shipping.

This is a great chance to get a comprehensive taste of our most popular models.

Thanks!
