Looking forward to it, too. As a matter of fact, the 1.29mm reel you see photographed there is the first one out in the wild in both the US and Europe. I got it, took photos and played with the string a bunch, which was a first time for me in the final green, since everything else was in the prototype color. I then cut the rest of the reel into multiple sets and sent it to different people to test. Now we're just waiting for the main shipment to arrive to release it. There's no embargo on reviews or anything. I hope Jonas (Tennis Nerd) gets some samples from Germany soon.
On track to release in a week? (Since late August was the release date)

I think so. I will check with Germany today, since I still don’t have a tracking number for the shipment. Once en route, it shouldn’t take more than three days to arrive, though, since it’s getting sent via Express air. Trust me, I am as expectant for it as anybody else.

String: Paradox 1.29mm 55/55lb

I noticed the string's fine rough texture, reminding me of the brushed finish of a fine swiss watch.
Despite the "metallic" feeling of the string, it was surprisingly malleable like other Grapplesnake strings I tried in the past.
I hate it when string companies throw words around like "ALU power-like" and "Premium", but Paradox actually fits those adjectives.

When I took it to the court, I expected medium firmness like other Grapplesnake strings and that's exactly what I got.
It pockets the ball really well like M8, but it still maintains the crisp feeling like a vintage poly like ALU Power.
The string makes a brassy sound on contact and there's a ton of feedback from the string, which was absent in M8 and Tour Sniper.
Despite high tension, the string felt powerful, yet the fine rough texture of the string grabbed the ball just long enough to really spin the ball into the court.
I am curious how this string will perform with low tension, because what I noticed with Grapplesnake is that different tensions bring out different qualities in a string.

I only had one set, so I couldn't test thoroughly enough so I can't say this is the best string ever, or this will be my next string. But I can say one thing for sure.

This string is a new breed. This is not just another flavor of the month string company that just slaps on a label.

edit: I noticed the increase in power might be due to the weight of the string too. It is noticeably heavier than other strings. I will try to remove some lead.

Thx for your review! Do you feel it is softer than M8 or similar?

Why don't you lower the tension? I believe it was reported that I plays great in lower tensions as well.
Yeah have to test it at a ridiculously low tension like 16 or 17 kg... juste to be sure ;)

Might as well try the same with 4G at least it holds tension better

I was getting massive power out of tour m8 1.25 47 lbs in 2021 vcore 98 and tour m8 1.30 at 30 lbs in prince phantom 97p. Actually much more powerful than other strings

I think tour m8s power lvl depends on how much its pocketing vs deflecting the ball which varies based on weather conditions, tension and racquet. It can be low power absorbing the energy or high power redirecting the energy depending on how stringbed responding

Likewise. I thought it was excellent when it came to power, control, and short angles hit at full pace. I also used it in the Phantom 97P in a 1.30mm gauge. It destroyed the ball.

I'm confused how more metallic and heavier can actually be softer than tour m8 and as soft or softer than alpha
That is precisely the paradox, along with great spin production out of a round shape, with all the launch consistency benefits that it entails.

I am super happy to see players realizing this, which took an enormous amount of hours of work and engineering.

M8 1.25, 48/46 in my Shift 99 has really good controllable power, my top 3 setup for this frame.

Lol I just watched oppenheimer a couple nights ago so im getting figuring out how to make the nuclear bomb vibes from this. All the secrets and mysteries to uncover and enormous effort/time spent

Well, this wasn’t nuclear physics, also, no sheer luck as someone else suggested, just a lot of vision, outside the box thinking, and lots, and lots of trial and error, many prototypes. A lot of passion, no rushing, also, no corporate environment that kind of suppresses “different” ideas. Just doing things right. That’s all.

I'm surprised you were confident enough that a solution exists to more metallic and heavier yet also very soft to pursue that line intensively

So I'm thinking even if the very direct feedback doesn't make you better instantly it should be a great learning tool to improve your shots over time since you can feel how you're hitting much more clearly? What do you think about that? Great training string even if not the choice for competition?

By the way how did you get the string before release?

no, it's not a learning tool. it's an advanced players string.

It will come down to the wire. I really don’t want it to go into the first few days of September, but I still don’t have a tracking.

One thing that I would like to share with everyone regarding the playability of Paradox Pro, is how quickly it performs the way it will throughout its whole life. By that, I mean that there’s virtually no break-in. It will give you pocketing right away, the comfort and feel of a broken-in string, right away. That’s just how it is all the time.

In addition to that, the playability doesn’t decrease in a linear manner as many other strings do, it will basically play the same, or very close to the same, until it just breaks. Your first thought will be that you were not expecting it to break, because the string never went dead.

That is, to me, the biggest change in paradigm, I hope it will change people’s conceptions of how a string should go through its life cycle. I think it will motivate other manufacturers to copy it, try to figure out how we did it, and create something similar.

I hope it becomes the standard of how a string should perform - at its peak, all the time. It’s so cool, and one of the things that I didn’t want to create too much hype on. I wanted to let the string speak for itself. But I just have to mention it at this point.

Is it perfect? Will everyone think it’s the best of the best? Of course not. Everyone’s different. Some people might not like the soft feel, some people might not like the fact that it’s not aggressively shaped, even if it pockets a lot and gives you a lot of spin anyway. Some people might not like the extra weight that it carries. Paradox also doesn’t like being twisted and pulled hard creating a compact, hard twist (think twisted string), since it can weaken its construction. So, be mindful of this when you are stringing it. Same with crushing it too hard with the clamps. But it is an outstanding string. Since we’re so close, I think it’s great to share some of our design goals behind the work we did with Paradox Pro.

I’ll give you a couple of more nuggets of interesting information in the next couple of days while we’re still waiting!

If my reference tension for TS is 22 kg - what tension would you recommend for Excellent Purple? I have only one set, so there is no room for experimenting unfortunately.

I'm also curious. My wife usually has Revolve 24kg but she wants to test EP. I have one set so what tension would be best? Racket is Clash 100

I really guess also people to tell which method they use for stringing... constant pull or lock out

I use LO on my wise sonthat explains why I have to string M8 AT 23 KG... if I were to use constant pull I certainly would go with 18kg

Yes that about 3-5 kg difference to get the same "feel" from référence tension

To me it's not quite 5 kg, more like 5 lb or 2.2 kg, but I agree. Every tension recommendation I provide is at constant pull, based on purchasing a ton of racquets for testing with our strings, all strung on a Wilson Baiardo.

What kind of string Excelent Purple is? I bought one out of curiosity..and color ;). Is it stiff or soft and what is nature of it?

I string with constant pull at work and at home I have drop weight. In the end, I make my own decision based on the experiences of others. It's always really interesting to hear other people's thoughts. It gives some perspective.

EP was one of our first strings. It's durable and has good precision and tension maintenance. It's not as complex or sophisticated as our newer models, but it's a good option as a reliable and durable string, round initially, but with a shaped version available in Europe now. The feel is more simple, without all the additives we have added to M8 for example to maximize good feel, pocketing etc. To me, it has always been a workhorse string.

The big strength of EP+ is its excellent tension maintenance, while being medium form.

Grabs the ball ok without being unpredictable like many shaped strings.

Definitely waiting for some promo on the E U website to get a reel!!

I strung Clash with EP+ lower than normally would for my wife. I took the word that it maintains tension well and went down to 21,5kg. Have to try it tomorrow myself so that I see what she ended up with.

There was no answers earlier in this thread about Grapplesnake strings RacketTune string factor values. Does anyone have those?

Next I plan to make a test of the best 5 sided Grapplesnake string...

I have on stock

- EP+
- Tour Sniper
- Alpha
- M8 ( I know it's not 5 sided but any way)

Will test them in my perfectly matched 3 Gravity MP auxetic

1) tension maintenance: % loss after stringing, after 24h, after 1 session and after 2 weeks

2) power, especially access to depth and raw Speed at flat serves

3) control: easy to redirect pace and directional control, confidence I shots

4) spin: primarily through partner feedback

5) feel and comfort: pocketing, feel outside of sweetspot, arm comfort and comfort while stringing

I also have a reel of Game Changer but don't have enough Gravities haha

about 6 hours into the string. consensus with this string is it's really easy to overhit. it's way too powerful for Speed MP is my take on it.

I think I want to use this on something much underpowered like prestige mp.

Hmm, soft, powerful and spin friendly. Sounds like a Volkl Cyclone Tour with better tension maintainance?

@YonexEnjoyer
Is the power and lack of control caused by the increased swing weight? Say if you use your usual string, but add lead to make it the same SW as Paradox, would you overhit?

What about spin? Is lack of spin causing over hitting?

Also what about tensions maintenance?

For those of you who have played with Alpha, have any of you also played with either Mayami Big Spin or Tour Hex?

I use both Mayami strings in a hybrid with Cream, strung low at 43lbs and my elbow is shot.

How does Alpha compare? Looking to hybrid this with Cream.

I haven't played with the Mayami strings, but Alpha is a softer, slightly more plush version of Tour Sniper (which is to say... a softer, plusher string that has good power, but also excellent control - it is not too powerful, but has plenty when you swing out, lasts a very long time, and played better the longer I had it in my racquet... until it was gone, but that was seriously a few months later, and I don't usually have other strings in my racquet for months).

Hope that helps. The only downside for me with Grapplesnake is that they are selling them only in the US and Europe and therefore I need to pay in US dollars or euros (which makes the strings too expensive when the currency exchange is factored in).

Shame as it means I won't use them as often (and I have a very large collection of racquets that I would string them in).

People can exist outside the US and europe?!

Never understood how this was allowed!! ;)

Can't wait to load my incoming percept 100 with M8... on a 300 gr quite powerful frame that could finally be a good match!
Maybe you'll finally witness the M8 power potential. Trust me when the tension, racquet and conditions are right its sometimes super powered.

At 30 lbs in prince phantom 97p it could be on either extreme of power scale depending on weather. I remember having a match in warmer 70+ degrees weather where it was EXTREMELY low power, then a practice a couple weeks later in very cold 50 or lower it was super powerful.

I think cause warmer made the strings too loose absorbing all the ball energy and cold firmed it up and transferred the energy to the ball in reflective way instead

Hello! ...one question, perhaps can give me som more informations to the stiffness of M8, TS, ExcellentPurple+ and Gamchanger (Silver) ...
How would you compare the stiffness of them? perhaps in comparison to Isospeed Cream (MSV Swift) or Signum Pro X-Perience or MSV Hex +25/+38 ?
... sorry for my question, but I didn't found any good informations in comparison about it.

or where would find the new string its place in your list?
Liquid (softest) - Irukandji - Liquid Neon Dust - Alpha - Cube - Tour M8 - Game Changer - Tour Sniper - Excellent Purple - CES Neon Dust - Cube Extra Sharp (firmest)

Thanx from austria - greetings eddy.spageddi.patero :)
