Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

My latest M8 string job was M8 1.25 @ 48/46 lockout (so like 46/44 constant pull) in a 2019 Prince TT100P (100" open 18x20) and it was pretty much bang-on, if maybe a pound low (I hit pretty flat, so I like a more firm string bed).

BTW, I have a tiny suggestion on your website (maybe just my personal feel), could you maybe change the color of "Add to Cart"? The light color always make me feel that the item is out of stock.
For example on this Paradox Pro page: https://www.grapplesnakeusa.com/collections/sets/products/paradox-pro-set-1

I just checked TW, TE, Wilson Sport. They all use red and green color.
For example: https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Solinco_Hyper-G_16_130_String/descpageACSOLINCO-SHG16.html
I'll try now.

Gave it a good try at modifying the theme to change the "add to cart" color. There are options for color changes, but it happens to be that the "add to cart" button uses the background color of that page. So, I went into the source code and made a complete mess and had to call tech support lol. The gauge options for every string disappeared and the menu in the mobile version stopped working. All fixed now. I re-published the theme and deleted my mess. That was scary. I might get a different theme for the site in the future with more options, since this one is literally called "Minimal", but I happen to like it, even though it's simple.

so Grapplesnake Europe opened a Black Friday deal today, buy a reel, get one free. I picked up two reels of M8 so will be excited to try this. I had a set to test which I've just strung at 46lbs to test in the morning,
I also interested in ordering some reels. Do we need to input any promo codes for the Black Friday promotion?

I have been using tour sniper 1.25 @51lbs on ez98 2022 basically since the racket came out. I just tried m8 1.25 @ 53lbs for the first time today. Phew! The string feels amazing. I have to put in more time but first impression was great. I think it has a little bit more power than sniper but feel is better. Pocketing is better. You basically feel pocketing on ez98 which is not an easy task to achieve for a string.

@Grapplesnake USA Official - would you recommend 1.3 over 1.25 for M8? I just figured 1.3 would be too thick for ez98 as the middle of the stringbed is quite dense as it is…

Don't think so, at least I couldn't figure out what code so I just put a remark referring to the Black Friday email I received in the "note" section while making the order.

Ordered a reel Tour Sniper 1.25, was hesitant at first since I haven't tried the m8 yet (just put it in the frame today). But hey, that Sniper has been so awesome the last couple of weeks that even if the m8 is even better I still wouldn't regret ordering the sniper at all. It really changed my game, so much confidence with it. I am someone that really needs to play agressive with high swing speeds, slow down a bit and I lack spin, put balls long, lose confidence, enter a never ending downward spiral. Then I up the swingspeed again, spray a ball, enter cycle again. Yeah it's a mental game for sure :) The sniper is the first string that never sprays on me and really clicks (it feels so precise). Makes my mental game so much easier, no more technical swing thoughts, only 1 focus thought: just wipe (windshield wiper) as fast as I can. It improved my consistency + more pressure on the opponent. I am sure there are other strings that can achieve the same but for now the sniper gives me full confidence, keeps tension and is easy on my arm. I clicked with it like no other string before.

Very happy to see that you have discovered M8! I think the Ezone 98 could go either way. Open enough for benefiting from the 1.3, but still a 98 and not the most open 16x19. Given that you are used to 1.25, and that you liked the extra power in M8 1.25, I see no reason for you to switch to 1.3.

Thank you!! Actually I wouldn’t mind a lower power added stability and a bit boost in SW so I’ll just check out the 1.3 as well and report back sir!

Okay tried the M8 in my Volkl Organix 7 (bit of a weird spec frame that I really enjoy lately). Seems a bit more powerful then the Sniper at the same tension (20kg / 44 lbs). Felt like the M8 is a little more muted. Some might describe it as plush, for me it felt a bit too "lazy" but I do tend to like a more direct feel/feedback. I kind of missed the pinpoint accuracy and control the Sniper gives me. Might be the racquet / string combo though. I have a feeling the M8 might be better suited to my C10 Pro.

Love the C10 Pro for sure! Hope you like it there.

FYI, we restocked M8 1.25, and also received a small number of reels of Purple Plus 1.25 mm, since some of you folks here were interested. I am not going to release Purple Plus in the US soon or officially add these reels to our website. No sets available, unfortunately. Anyone interested, just send me a PM. This is for forum members only!

this is my stick although I've added weight. Been hitting with M8 all week and loving it. It's a super plush string. The only gripe I have is it's not quite as precise as Tour Sniper but wins in every other department. I might hybrid M8 with Razor Soft over the next few days and give that a whirl.

Exactly that, in the end the best string is still personal preference. Tried multiple Grapplesnake strings, they're all in the good-great category. Prefer the Tour Sniper for it's precision and consistency.
Very much true. If there was a perfect string that suited everyone, we would only make the one string. We're all different and each model we make has an innovative intended purpose behind it.

why is this guy saying tour M8 is the best poly in history of tennis ?

Be aware, he admitted that he has a financial interest in the sales. He is posting referral links on other Grapplesnake string videos (Paradox), which means if you use the link to buy the strings he gets a monetary kickback.

@Aestheticsaboveallelse - I've found poly/poly hybrids that come close to, or maybe equal M8, usually for other reasons (spin, certain other qualities, etc.), but for a full bed of just a single co-poly, 100% agreed. I know it's easy to jump on any bandwagon, but M8 is legit that good. It simply feels like the next evolution of co-poly, plain and simple. For those who haven't tried it yet, don't take anyone's word for it, myself included. Try it for yourself and make your own decision. As with anything, I'm sure they'll be some detractors, but overall, just an extremely solid string.

I agree on M8 being the best poly I’ve played. My only issue was what felt like a hidden stiffness. It plays plush but after playing my arm said otherwise. That was in my old Blade Pro 16m.

I actually just ordered a couple sets to try in the Elevate v3. Hoping it doesn’t feel too stiff in the elevate because I really like that string from everywhere.

I don’t understand the hype around M8. Tried it a few times and didn’t like it at all. But everyone has their own opinions on strings, which is why it is great that there are so many choices out there. But totally agree @Aestheticsaboveallelse should try it and see how it works for him.

Only thing better would be if Grapplesnake could figure out how to make Tour M8 in a 1.20 gauge, and have it retain at least as much playability as would be reasonable to expect. That would be sweet for those of us playing denser-pattern sticks.

So does every other YouTuber on YouTube. (regarding affliliate links... it helps their channel to bring you more free content, most of them are upfront about the kickback anyways)

I am pretty sure Mark makes -$ on his channel, this is pretty much his hobby, he works a regular 9-5 as a barely 3.5 computer rated software engineer.

Just to be clear, he was only contacted after he purchased the strings like any of you, tried them and loved them. I found out about the videos from here. I wrote and basically wanted to say thanks to him, and ended up offering a collaboration since he loved the strings, because why not at that point. It is the same situation as with TennCom and Jonas (Tennis Nerd). They all became affiliates after the fact. It's my only way to get our brand name out there. We can't compete with the big corporations in terms of marketing. And if you see a pattern, I approach people that talk about the string at a good technical level. You won't see me chasing Instagram models or the like.

I have never contacted anyone requesting them to say anything in exchange for money. Any time a positive video pops up, it is spontaneous, surprising and exciting to me. Whenever I have sent free samples to reviewers, I have made sure to explain the intended purpose of each model, thank them for their time, and that's it. Doing any different would not only be a disservice to you, but also to the strings themselves and their capacity, that I already know they have, to amaze people. And seeing that 99.9% of every feedback I ever get is overwhelmingly positive really makes me happy and reinforces my vision. That's how we've grown since 2019, word-of-mouth. Our positive reputation and the explosive growth is something a lot of folks in this very forum thread are to be thanked for. And I always will be.

The perverse reality of social media influencers, ambassadors or whatever they want to be called, requesting money in order to say this or that before they even try or care about the product they're posing with is something I deeply dislike. That is how mediocre products become "hyped" so often. I ignore those messages and requests on a daily basis and wish the world was different in that regard.

I'd been using the G-snake for years prior to being offered the affiliate deal. I had my entire uni team using the stuff and it's still my preferred string for competition.

If I had to play a match with money on the line, I'm taking Tour M8 every day of the week, no cap, as the kids say.

@Grapplesnake USA Official I have sets of 1.25mm Tour Sniper, M8, and 1.26mm Paradox Pro to try. Seeking your advice on which I should try first and which tension should I string at: 53/50 or 49/46.5 lbs?

I usually play with 1.30/1.25 gut mains and 1.25 Kirschbaum Max Power crosses @ 65/61 lbs in a Pro Staff X. My wet season full poly setup is 1.25 Max power / 1.17 Ghostwire @ 53/50 lbs.

I like consistent stringbeds with good feedback. I am a 3.5-4.0 aggressive all-courter.

Thanks in advance!

Hey, ok, let's use the full bed of Max Power as a reference, since we're in winter mode now. I would say that all 3 models are going to be more comfortable. As much as I like Max Power, it dies pretty quickly and feels firm at all times and even more after dying. With that in mind, I would recommend perhaps +1 lb in Sniper and M8, and +2 in Paradox so things won't feel too soft on you. Unsure if you meant 1.26 or 1.29 there with Paradox, but either way, same. That's using your baseline. Other option is to maintain your 53/50 if you're ok with things feeling a bit softer, because I think you'll like the new feel of both. Sniper will feel similar, by the way, but softer. You will also get similar power delivery.

My personal preference in the Pro Staff X would be 52/52 on Sniper and M8, and 53/53 using Paradox. But I'm at 5000 ft. At sea level I would drop things to about 49 to 50 in that frame, given the string pattern. Would go lower in an 18x20 comparable racquet. I just don't want to advise you to drop much more given your habit of stringing so high in the summer. It's hard to change something like that. But nice to see you going for it in full bed of poly during winter. Explore dropping a little more in time once you become a high 4.0 and are able to increase your racquet head speed enough to really control the extra launch.

Interesting that Max Power dies quickly for you. Has not been my experience. And sorry, I meant 1.26mm. I actually play at sea level in tropical conditions. So hot and humid year round. Switching to poly now that it is the rainy season. Made the mistake of playing my gut hybrid in slightly damp conditions and discovered today that the gut snapped in my bag. Think I’ll go with my usual 53/50 with Sniper first. Thanks!

Are you guys seeing higher prices in their USA site?
It's funny because if I'm in Chrome with my Google account I get into the website and for example Tour M8 $21, Tour Sniper $19, BUT if I use a different browser or check with Shop app I can see Tour sniper at $12.5 etc
Do you think I've been victim of cookies?
Beware mates

@VanDerVaart23

We just enabled payments in local currency 15 days or so ago. This is actually to help you see the final price to be paid right away, in your currency, and not have to deal with varying conversion fees from the bank or whoever after actually paying. The fee that we get charged to later convert to US dollars is built in your local currency now. It's minimal, and we actually cover a portion of it. This is all part of an effort of mine to make things easier for international customers who have to deal with extra shipping costs and sometimes customs duties. We also enabled new pricing via DHL with extra fast delivery times at around 50% below normal pricing. It took us a lot of work to afford this with them.

This is probably what's going on in your case. You might be in Canada or Australia, and you're signed in with your associated address via Chrome? In that case, you would be seeing prices in CA$ or AU$. Judging by the numbers you wrote, I bet it's Australia. Prices haven't changed and we don't use cookies to show different people different prices. Don't even know how to do that, since that's big corporation stuff.

Wow Paradox Pro Bronze looks great... when will it be available? Any meaningful difference compared to the Green version ?
We made test runs in different colors without meaningful differences in playability as part of releasing the string. They are floating around and we might make more of the black, possibly bronze. We are taking care of stocking Alpha, reinforcing M8 and Sniper, plus everything else given all the extra demand, and I am planning on bringing an additional color of Paradox after that. So far, all the effort goes into constantly maintaining as many models as possible in stock.
