I have always considered Tour Bite to be exceptionally good on spin potential, specifically the thinner gauges. Completely possible for that impression to be different in other players. Nice to hear that for you, CES Hybrid is superior in spin. You will like Prototype.

I have to agree, Tourbite 17 G, 18G is insane in spin potential. Black code 4S is also good but I didn't think it was better than tourbite. Is your strings better quality than black bear strings ? you guys are both from germany

I was a tester for the Diadem Flash string, but I broke that this morning so I strung up the Grapplesnake Neon Dust hybrid. I had previously tested a full bed of Cube and was really impressed at playability for the first six hours. However, it then seemed to lose elasticity pretty quickly after that point.

Today, I was in a bit of a rush so I just cut the zip tie on the Cube Extra Sharp, equalized the length, and started stringing at my usual main tension. It feels a lot like regular Cube in that there's little stretch when pulling tension. Things are going along okay. Then, a big "hmmm". On my SW104 that needs 20 feet for mains in a two-piece, both ends were **very** short.

I had to pull out a starting clamp in order to pull the last mains on the 18X19 pattern, and there was barely enough to do my standard double half-hit knots. It needs about another foot to comfortably string.

I measured the cross string, and it came out to 19 feet, 9 inches. If the mains were also this length, that would explain why I didn't have quite enough to pull without a starting clamp. Anyhow, I got it done, and here's the final product.

I normally use 48 pounds in the center 8 mains, decreasing from there outward, and use 46 pounds in the center five crosses, decreasing from there towards the top and bottom. I strung this at 48 in the center mains and 49 in the center crosses.

I'll be hitting in a couple of hours, and have my other racquet with a full bed of Solinco Hyper-G to compare with.

The -3 inches were probably my bad, since I cut your demo set and all others from reels myself, using a tape measure. Of course, our retail sets in our website come accurately cut from the factory.

I hit for 90 minutes with the Neon Dust hybrid, on a medium speed outdoor courts using a once-previously-used Dunlop ATP ball that is currently being tested, along with a set of once-previously-used Pro Penn Marathon balls. In my other racquet is a set of Solinco Hyper-G that has about four hours of play on it.

Hyper-G is much more sharply profiled than Tour Bite, and it feels as though Hyper-G trades some power for more spin. Cube is the same profile as Hyper-G but even sharper in profile. The Neon Dust hybrid bed doesn't feel quite as grippy as a full bed of Cube, and I think that the full bed of Cube has a bit more spin capability, but the Neon Dust hybrid has more spin capability than Hyper-G with offering similar power and more comfort. Off center hits are significantly more muted and still have good ball speed and directional accuracy, better than Hyper-G in both respects. This is probably due to the cross string, which is thinner and more elastic than either Cube or CES.

I was able to consistently hit some really nasty slices that would seemingly float forever before just skimming off the court surface while still retaining some underspin. Similarly, I was able to hit some looping topspin shots that reached the back wall, 21 feet behind the baseline, with the ball still at shoulder height. These balls only had about six feet of net clearance so they really hopped off the court with the amount of topspin the strings can generate. I didn't do any serving today.

Neon Dust hybrid has less incoming ball spin sensitivity than Cube. I was able to volley balls with heavy spin without having to correct as much as I did with the full bed of Cube, and the amount of stringbed angle correction was pretty similar to what was required with Hyper-G.

Ball velocity off the stringbed was very linear. The ball speed I got with various types of spin shots, along with hard and flat putaway shots, almost exactly matched my expectations.

I'm very impressed by the attributes of the Neon Dust hybrid. Hopefully it will last longer than the full bed of Cube, which for me seemed to lose elasticity around the six hour mark. However, I will be purchasing another set of Cube to try again. At this time, after having tested Volkl Cyclone, Wilson Revolve Spin, Diadem Solstice Power, and Solinco Tour Bite and Hyper-G shaped poly strings, Cube and Neon Dust would be at the top of the list if I were compete in singles with a fresh stringbed. The sole issue for me, so far, has been how long the high level of playability and spin capability last. If I can get 12 hours, I'd be satisfied.

I'll be hitting for another 90 minutes Friday morning and will report back after that time.

I'm pretty sure you can easily expect 12 hours with Neon Dust hybrid. If you don't break it before... I break it in 8/9 hours.

TL;DR is the string has excellent durability and good tension maintenance. Cons are comfort and feel/touch. Recommended for string breakers who have a fast swing and like to hit with spin.

Sounds like how I would describe something like Solinco Tour Bite

Got another 90 minutes of hitting in. Was intended to be just a light hit but ended up being pretty intense. I am pretty happy with this string. Launch angle is good and consistent, it's soft and muted when I mis-hit, power levels are consistent, and I can get extreme amounts of spin when I try to. It still feels like a full bed of Cube is able to reverse spin on an incoming ball a bit better, so it returns a bit more topspin off a groundstroke with the same swing than the Neon Dust hybrid.

So far, three hours and playability has not changed. There's minimal notching. Hitting again on Saturday, then possibly three hours on Monday.

I hit with the Neon Dust hybrid in one of my Clash Tours at 44 lbs (mains) and 46 lbs (crosses). I hit over 700 balls drilling off my ball machine. This felt much better than the Cube hybrid. I felt more comfortable control with good power and excellent spin. I was able to really hit out and crush forehands and backhands crosscourt and down the line, applying extra spin. I could also zing flatter shots but, obviously, had less margin for error. I have always hit my OHBH pretty flat but adjusted my grip a little & focused on really hitting out and brushing up. The result was hard, spinny backhands with extra consistency. Volleys were better if I tried to apply extra backspin than usual. That is, some strings seem to work well for punching through volleys with less spin but these strings seem to work better on volleys if you lay the racquet face back a tad more than usual and focus on getting extra backspin & bite, which you do. I only hit a few serves but definitely could feel the bite on the kick serves. I'm still trying to get used to this racquet, especially serving, but the Neon Dust hybrid definitely grips the ball. I had good control on my BH slices, hitting them low with good depth. I was able to hit some nice FH drop shots from baseline as well. At the end of my hitting session. I decided to tee off & hit a few 90 mph forehands for fun & as I'm not worried about my arm falling off with the Clash Tour. Just wanted to push things to the limit & see if I could hit as hard as I did 30 years ago. lol. Many were going in. Some went six feet behind the baseline. lol. I feel like I need to hit out with this stick to see what it can do at the different swing speeds. It is very different, for sure. The Neon Dust hybrid played well at 44/46 and seems to play very well at lower tensions. It might work even better at lower tensions than what I used. Maybe 42/44 or even 40/42 lbs. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Neon Dust hybrid to those who want to get extra spin on their shots.

Feel and Touch department is horrible compared to RPM blast. why is that ? does that mean I won't feel the ball very well. that is usually a problem for me

In that particular comparison they chose to use Cube Extra Sharp instead of regular Cube, for some reason. Cube Extra Sharp is firmer and supposed to be combined with Liquid (soft) as part of our classic hybrid, and not really used by itself. I would strongly suggest to use the softer, regular Cube in full bed.

Played a set of doubs with Irukandjik in the crosses and Firewire 17g mains last night and it felt heavenly. The Irukandjik's profile and slippery surface pairs very well with Firewire. While I don't think I got the same number of rpms vs Ghost Wire crosses, what I did feel was higher was level of predictability/control of the ball of the string bed due to the flat surface of Irukandjik allowing more of the sharp edges of Firewire face up in the string bed. I also felt like I got a little more pace on flatter shots and the set up was very easy on the arm. Long review short, Irukandjik will definitely be added to my inventory.

If you play with natural gut or a multi-filament in the Mains, Irukandji will help prevent notching, and will add snap-back and spin. Being rectangular and round, the larger surface area, in other words, the widest part of that rectangle, will always make contact with the main when being pulled. What string would you say has the best control of the Grapplesnake line? I ordered a set of the cube and will try that out first but just wondering what your choice would be for best control string. I use full poly at high tension so I like a very low powered string job. For example right now I’m using a head 360 speed pro racket with Luxilon Alu 17 gauge at 64 lbs. and it plays very well with this set up.

OUCH! Doesn't that hurt your arm at all? I've always been told that poly strings aren't designed to be used at the higher tensions. Somewhere around 54 lbs or lower was suggested to me.

No with my Wilson six one 95 that I was using I had ALU Power 17 gauge at 70 lbs. with no arm problems. With the new speed pro that I’m now using my first string job was with ALU 17 gauge at 54 lbs. and it played good when fresh but after a couple times hitting it was too springy for me. The next string job I went with 64 lbs and it’s playing very nice.

If you can play with the lower tension that’s great but I prefer higher tension and it’s not that harsh like many claim if you change the strings often. Most people that claim high tension poly will hurt your arm have never tried it but somehow know all about it. There are pro players that use poly in the mid 60’s and they change to a new string job every 40 minutes or so.

All of our strings are great on control, but if I had to choose two, I would go with out Neon Hybrid and Excellent Purple.

Neon Hybrid just absorbs a lot of energy and provides plenty of spin potential. Excellent Purple tends to fly under the radar, in part because it wasn't available to Demo, but to me is our lowest powered string, round, smooth and predictable. Very control oriented for sure. I would try them and decide from there.

We do have a new string coming up un about two weeks now, also mainly focused on control, pentagonal and partially pre-stretched. I've mentioned here that it will be our Tour level string, while feeling softer than its competitors.

So many options...

Neon Hybrid and Prototype are both pretty close, both relatively soft. Prototype to me is softer than its competitors with similar feel. If I had to pick the softest of the two, it's almost a toss up, but I would go with Neon Hybrid, because the Liquid Neon Cross plays a noticeable role softening up the string-bed.

I just strung up my first set of cube. I’ve felt a lot of strings with edges like head gravity and Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable but I’ve never felt sharp edges like this before. I’m anxious to see how it plays. There is very little stretch to this string. They do need to improve their measuring technique though. My set was only 35’ 6” long and was barely long enough to string my 18x20 string pattern.

How does the prototype compare to Cube ? I got a set of cube with me and it feels seriously plasticky and stiff like... It feels like kirschbaum spiky shark which when strung and played felt like hitting with plastic board with no ball pocketing. I am going to play test the cube next weekend and I sure hope it doesn't feel anything like spiky shark

The prototype feels a lot "silkier". It's a different formula. I would say it's much easier to string and, as stated before, plays similar to ALU power, but softer. I would recommend to try it as well once it arrives (almost there!).

No I tried another set of cube. I may need to adjust tension so I got another set. I have not hit with the cube yet but I like how little stretch it had while stringing so I’m hoping it will play good. I like to try a string out in full bed to really test it out well, plus I prefer a stiff string bed.

Not agree. I did it at first but I add way too much power with my Phantom Pro 100... Yes, too much power with the PP100!!!!! :-D
Now I am at 25/26kg and it's really better and still really comfy.
Liquid is incredibly soft. Maybe too much...
Next time I will try to prestretch it (5%) to see how it play.

I tried it at 55/57 in the Clash Tour and it felt too tight. 44/46 in the Clash Tour feels much better. The racquet uses me for the control. Lol
