Personally I recommend a carrytrade: Borrow japanese yen, gear it 3-4 times and put it in a high yielding bond eg turkish or south african. Has anybody done this or do u have even better ideas? Pls only serious ideas that u dont see on the font page of the economist, unless its on the front page in 6 months ofcourse!!

carry trades do have risks. higher the apparent yield differentials higher is the risk (perhaps hidden).

Well it's been a very bad option for the last 3-4 years. Sure you get very low rates, but so you do in US now ... the problem is that meanwhile the JPY has gained +66% against the USD ...
