Former member of the world's top ten and owner of Mutua Madrid Open, Ion Tiriac, was not happy with the final match at Roland Garros. In his statement, he revealed that champion Ashleigh Barty was didn't play so well to deserve the French Open title. At the same time, he criticized the whole final.

Translation:
"The women's final at Roland Garros was the worst I've ever seen," Tiriac said, saying he had even left the final match after four games. "Please excuse my sincerity. After four games I wanted to leave and even did it! ”

"In the final, Sharapova, Halep, or Williams were missing. Barty has won only one credit. It's an Australian," said Tiriac. "They can't write or read, but there's always someone who has good technical knowledge from A to Z," he nodded indiscriminately.

Tiriac also criticized his compatriot Halep, which lost in QF with Anisimova:
"She played horribly, deep below her level. Quarterfinal is not a success for me. She didn't have the spark she needed at all, "

This guy is 99% total card-carrying slimeball.

I give him a 1% pass for the models he used as ballgirls/umbrella holders at his tourney, the Mutua Madrid Open.

Well that was good for a laugh at least. Must be nice to be old, rich and not care what anyone thinks.

Hard to disagree with the crux of what he said though. The final was terrible, and quarter-finals should not be good enough for Halep. She does lack a spark.

Rich idiot makes no sense in particular when you are a self made billionaire.
Seriously? Sure, a person can have a talent for making money, but that is only one aspect of living. There are 'self made billionaires' who are law breakers, who treat people poorly, and are personal failures in many other ways (like Tiriac). Having lots of money certainly can make life easier, but it is no guarantee for happiness or personal success.

You’re arguing a strawman. The poster didn’t say a self-made billionaire was a good person, was content, etc., but the fact that he was a self-made billionaire, ipso facto makes him most likely not an “idiot.”

I never mentioned anything about happiness but anyone who is very rich needs to have a brain, regardless of whether they are nice people or not.
