Mehh... Roddick/Hewitt wouldn't even of beaten Fed in his 30s in a best of 5. Berdych sure could though

Yeah that's because Fed was at his peak too, come on. He only really won those matches because Fed was playing absolute crap. When Fed actually plays well he destroys Berdych (see AO 2017)

Could be. I mean 2015 was seriously bad though. Mauresmo's Murray finishing as no2 despite constantly losing to top players. 2006 - Fed's usual no mark lackeys and Nadal still too young to do anyting outside French Open. It's pretty close either way.

even RG 06, wim 06 ( AO 08 to a lesser extent, AO 16 as well ) ...all straight set wins for fed ...

Are people really trying to build up post 2003-2005 Roddick here? Good lord.

Look Roddick was good under the tutelage of Gilbert. But it pretty much all downhill from there outside his FLUKE Wimbledon run in '09

Not a chance in hell would Berdych beat peak Federer. And Roddick most certainly could've took post prime Fed at a slam. That's when he got most of his success.

Hewitt beat federer in DC 03 in Bo5 in late 2003 , when he was playing better than he was in wim 10/USO 12 vs berdych ..

roddick in 09 final nearly beat prime version of federer ..he can't beat clearly worse versions of federer ? LOL !

Slams are different. Roddick had a gazzilion chances to get the job done. FAILED!!!!

Fact is. Berdych got it done twice

Oh yeah? Well Hewitt was taking dumps all over your boy before he even turned 30. Guy also beat Fed in B05 in Davis Cup (2003).

Give healthy Hewitt the chance and he'd probably have wins over Fed similar to Murray. Roddick had a worse matchup problem than Berdych and even still he's seen more success against Nadal/Djokovic than he could ever hope for.

Yeah, time for you to bring up the next mug. Tsonga this time? LOL.

Nadal was amazing at Monte Carlo 2010. I think that tournament and Roland Garros 2008 were his absolute best on clay.

he was playing well in cincy 06, USO 06, USO 07, AO 07 ( before the SF vs fed), AO 09 ( beat djoko), miami 10 ( beat nadal), dubai 08 ( beat nadal/djoko back to back ) etc. ...and of course owned djoko in 09-10....

The only slam that was semi weak was 06 AO. And even then Fed had to beat davydenko, haas both quality proven opponents and bagdhatis was GOATing and superior to any version of 2010 Murray.

Not building him up, just stating the obvious that he's superior to 2010 Berdych/Murray/ Djokovic ROFL

he had gazzlillion chances vs prime fed, not past his prime fed....

its like saying todd martin would have a good chance vs prime sampras just because he beat him in AO 01.

That would be liking owning Djokovic now. Not a huge accomplishment under the circumstance.

Roddick had a few glimpses of his old self during that time. Not title worthy though. Obviously. No better than Peak Berdych

He couldn't even beat Fed at Wimbledon in 2009 when Fed wasn't even playing that well in the final. As always.. Found a way to booger it up. Classic Roddick

doesn't matter. Berdych wasn't capable of even that either.

not when Roddick himslef was peaking in those times. He was clearly better.

Made like 3 slam finals though, WAY more than Berdych could ever make.

Dude, Berdych is a class A coffee mug. Worse than Roddick, like WAY worse than Roddick.

That's really hitting below the belt on the Roddick fans saying he's worse than Berdych. Good drive by on Davydenko, the slam blunder.

he was playing about a gazziliion times better than he did in wim 10, USO 12 vs berdych ...

that federer would've wiped the best version of berdych off court in 4 sets tops.

How many Masters titles did Roddick win in that timeframe? How many has Berdych won?

No "strongest era EVA" excuses either, 'cause Roddick beat guys like Nadal/Djokovic/Murray for his 5 titles.

I dont think Peak Berdych is better than peak Roddick but we're comparing Peak Berdych to post 03-05 Roddick (Who isn't as good)

Baghdatis? Lmao that guy is a mug. Can't take him remotely seriously as quality opposition. No chance the guy was better than Murray, who also mugged it up in 2010 final. Goating? Guy had 3 or something 5 set matches against to even scrape to the final. Maybe goating for his low standards yeah.

My two least favorite players of all time so I'm a bit of an expert.:D Roddick still much better than Berdy simply because of his serve which is probably the best serve game we've seen in the game, though Kyrgios might eventually have a say in that.;) Serves win slams as any Sampras fan should know.:p

As i have mentioned earlier, how could it be weak? Peak-Djoker and peak-Murray losing in the first rounds of big tournaments shows this is the strongest field ever.

They lost more due to their decline rather than other players stepping up. The mugs that beat them were eliminated a round or 2 after right?

Of course im joking;). But its the kind of stupid statements Federer-Fans have listened to sinse 2010. Finally we can use them too, what goes around comes around:). But of course, Fed NEVER declines, decline is just for everyone else...

At least Roddick could make more than 1 slam final and at least he could take it to Nadal/Djokovic. Berdych crapped himself.

It is as weak as one of the 90's years where you could win 1 GS without any masters and end up #1 comfortably :D

You guys love to prop up weak eras. Now Chang, an American, winning French Open. Think about how unbelievablely weak that year was on clay. Underhanded serve beating Lendl.

Thiem will do much, much better than Davydenko in slams for his career. Book it TA.;)

He was only really consistently good at USO. Won Wimbledon at a rather weak period, best player he played on paper was Henman then was just average there before his decline.
