Lately there seems to be barrage of anti Djokovic threads created here..Is 40-15 the reason behind it? What I find hilarious is that people here act as if they are some sort of saint..I can bet my ass that 99% of people would snap if put under pressure that top pros go from day to day..

Just because Djokovic put a heckling fan to his place , doesn't make him a villain.. It makes him human..

lol, that was comical. Djoker damaged his own rep with that display.

P.S. Nadal is unpopular here. Not sure why, tho. :cautious:

Many reason are, not just WC. But yes, that intensifies it. I did not like Djoker from the get go essentially, 12 years?) Him coming up on Fed definitely makes it a fun and exciting rivalry even for the fans. But there is a line.

With that being said, Djoker has been very respectful towards Fed from what I have seen in recent events.

Djokovic is "hated" (disliked) because he is the main favorite for the Grand Slam record. Subsequently, some insecure Federer fans strongly dislike him. Surprisingly, Federer fans (with some exceptions) tend to equally dislike Nadal. It seems like any person threatening to surpass Federer's Grand Slam record is unpopular in this forum

Some people just don't like him. I used to be that way, but now I have some degree of respect for his character and I appreciate his game more. Still not really a fan, but I won't ever hate on him.

When Djokovic is stopping Nadal and protecting Federer's record and legacy, I support Djokovic. Eg. 2011-2013 , then in 2018 W, 2019 AO

But when Djokovic is beating Federer in major finals and taking away the trophies from Roger, I don't support Djokovic.

The Wimbledon loss was cruel, most cruel. No fault of Djokovic but his presence and solid play made Federer rush into those two points and screwed up the championship.

That's totally irrelevant.

I can bet my ass that 99% of tennis pros would snap if they had to do the jobs people on TTW do, whether it's lawyer, professor, welder, Walmart stocker, liquor store clerk or botanist.

Why are you constantly attempting to speak for millions of people (Fed fans), and continually getting it wrong? Many, many Fed fans here like Nadal. We don't want him passing Fed's slam count, obviously. But that doesn't translate into hating either Djokovic or Rafa. The projecting you do is painful to see. You are the one detesting Fed and then assuming others feel similar to the way you feel. Life doesn't work that way.

I disagree. That may have been true from 08-13 period but I think many Fed fans have come to appreciate Nadal and his accomplishments over time. He was there with Federer almost from the beginning when Fed started his reign as number 1.

With every additional slam win vs the Swissestro, the hate grew more.

It's sports. That's how it is.

He has better H2H including H2H at slams and soon will dominate in all the categorises including weeks spent at the no.1. Clearly the better player.

I liked Djokovic most in 2011 when he didn't give a damn about adulation and cheers. He'd tear his shirt off and show who was the man. Now he does that silly celebration where he motions like he's giving his heart to the crowd or whatever. He's a legend obviously but I think he needs to fire his PR guy.

I think the biggest reason for it is what he did at the US open with the tiff against Roddick. He's had many minor court issues over the years but so have many players and even tho Nadal and Federer fans might dislike him for his dominance over them in certain years. I just don't think he ever recovered with fans from the US open incident. It also didn't help that his desire to be liked was SO obvious when he started winning slams and lastly, let's not forget the absolutely insane period of time when he hired Pepe Imaz and practically started a cult.

There is many reasons to dislike Djokovic, 40-15 is just a minor addition in the long list.
