I've read two or three posts stating that both Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power and Unique Tourna Poly Big Hitter are oval strings. So, I started to search a little around the internet, in order to find out if this is true.
About Big Hitter, I found only this (on TW's review?):
"The variation of the diameter of the string suggests that Tourna Poly is purposely made oval. This seemingly insignificant out-of-roundness is important, however, as the International Tennis Federation (ITF) is investigating whether oval strings give the player an unfair advantage in producing spin, as lab tests indicate."
About Alu Power, I found nothing (not even on Luxilon's site) that can suggest that this string is oval.
So, apparently, the only one that may be oval is Big Hitter. Furthermore, I'm assuming that, since there are other similaririties in between them, to the point where some people refer to them as the same string, someone just assumed that Alu Power just had to be oval, too, and this "false" information picked up from there.
So, is this really false? Anyone taken measurements?
Edit: Luxilon's site says that Alu Power's diameter is 1.25mm and since nothing else is said, you can only assume that this string is ROUND.
