Is Andy Roddick going bald???

I definitely think Roddick makes more than his wife, at least right now. She is mostly famous for the SI swimsuit issue and that job doesn't pay much. The SI modelling is a springboard to other jobs. The big money for models is in cosmetics contracts or runway modelling, and Brooklyn has none of these on her resume. She will never do runway or model/endorse for a fashion house. Brooklyn has very limited range as far modelling goes. I'm sure she realizes this which is why she is branching out into acting which seems like a smart move for her.

If her Hollywood career continues and Andy retires she may become the major breadwinner. At which point they will probably divorce, ha ha.

I agree. Popularity does not necessarily correlate with more wealth. I am sure Roddick, Serena, and Decker are more popular than Federer here in the U.S, but Federer probably makes wayyyy more than them.

Never said she was a talented actress but like you just said yourself, she does not need to be, especially in an Adam Sandler movie of all things. Meanwhile, the movie did well at the box office from what I can see so Brooklyn talented or not, will probably be in other movies or tv roles in the future. I have seen her in interviews and she is defintiely not a stupid person. Using her modelling career as a springboard to get into acting is not a dumb thing to do.

Hey sweety, news flash, really talented actors, with long distinguished careers filled with memorable, transcendent roles that really put a mirror to society's face and make us all reconsider what it means to be human......................................................

DON'T APPEAR IN CRAPTASTIC ADAM SANDLER VEHICLES

Sandler movies are for models / actress's that have a limited shelf life. Even she knows that, she's just getting what she can before people forget all about her.

Federer has icon status worldwide, even in the U.S. I don't think Serena or Andy would be considered "more popular" although they might get more exposure in certain media simply because they are on American soil more frequently. But I think Roger is "worth more", if that makes any sense.

Also, Roger has more hair and therefore is more marketable. Hah, I'm so mean!

Poor Andy. He doesn't even look good with his head all shaved which usually does the trick with the baldies.

Does it affect his tennis game?

It's like swimmers, it makes him more aerodynamic

With a full head of hair slowing him down, he would have never hit that passing shot and Milos would be boozing it up in Acapulco right now.

Wow, you question what century I'm from all the while saying she stands to profit financially from a divorce?? Talk about double standards, lost all credibility there.

Of course she doesn't need him you duntz, just like A-Rod doesn't need a full head of hair to remain happily married to a good looking woman. He's a freakin' millionaire for crying out loud!

People have a short attention span so let me summarize: As things stand, Decker has a limited modeling career, no international recognition, has made one crappy Adam Sandler movie, AND, like it or not, models, unless they make it huge a la Gisele or Kate Moss, tend to fade away rather quickly. Presently, both financially and professionally, Brooklyn is a notch below Mr. Roddick.

Really, Blue Lagoon, crappy TV show, Andre Agassi..............................what, where did she go??

I'm not sexist, it's just that models, who traffic in their physique and good looks tend to have short, flash in the pan careers. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules.

Listen, I do not make up the family laws in North America either, but the reality is, whether I think it is right or not, that in most states or provinces the partner with less money will get 50% of what the other partner has earned during the course of the marriage unless there is a marriage contract set up which I am sure is the case between Roddick and Decker. The reality is I am sure she is entitled to receive something in the event of their divorce from Andy or perhaps they have both agreed to walk with whatever they have individually earned during their marriage, which is the best case scenario in MY opinion. I never said it is right or fair, but, when was the last time you looked at the domestic laws in North America? It is what it is, fair or not. I am pretty certain Andy Roddick would have married with a marriage contract and has looked to protect his financial assets in the event of a divorce unless he is a complete moron. (Paul McCartney ring a bell, what a moron!) So, you and I need not worry.

Re Brooke Shields she has been involved in the entertainment industry since she was a baby. She had a very successful career as a model, did some big screen movies when she was younger and then had a couple of her own tv shows. She is always doing tv commercials. She is an example of a model/actress that has shown longevity in the entertainment business. I would not call her career a failure in any respect, I am sorry.

Last point is that men trade on their looks in the entertainment world just as much as women do. Many actors that are great looking are not what I would call great actors. They just have to be bankable to keep making movies. None of them are going to win Academy Awards any time soon. So it is not just women in this situation.

I agree with you that Roddick makes more than Decker right now, but, I am sure she has her own money as well or at least I would hope so. You make a good point that her best bet would be to try and get a cosmetic contract or the like. If she can secure that she will be in good shape. At least she is not sitting on her *** doing nothing and just spending Andy's money all day. At least she is trying to extend her career by doing some acting roles, in crappy movies or not. She is earning her own money and can support herself.

Hey honey, thanks for your "pearls of wisdom." How many "really talented actors" are there out there? I mean really good actors who can really act? If you took away the actors that appear in crappy movies such as Adam Sandler movies (which are stupid), you would have nobody left working in Hollywood. So not sure where you are trying to go with all of this. It is sort of a moot point in my opinion.

^^The UK does not legally recognize prenuptial agreements. So Paul McCartney was not a moron for not signing one. He was however a moron for getting married.

Don't be so sure that Andy & Brooklyn signed a prenup. People are stupid when in the throes of heat/lust/love.

Receding hairline? Are you blind to the huge bald patch in the middle of his head? Receding hairline is to Christian Slater as, Andy Roddick is to Friar Tuck.

Yeah, he is. also has a receding hairline.. this has been goin on for a couple of years now...

I'm pretty sure a prenup was arranged. Either way, the whole relationship reeks of publicity stunt.

Yeah, she's kept working, and good for her, she seems like a really nice and grounded person. But my point was that Brooke Shields, who at one point was much, much bigger than what I predict Brooklyn will ever be, has faded from the public consciousness. Her star faded faster than Agassi's.

Same goes for Brooklyn, her star will fade faster than Andy's. Andy, like him or not, is the last American to win a Major and, after retiring, will do TV and will be active with the game, both on and off the court. Not sure about Brooklyn once her 15 minutes are past.

Listen, I was just responding to the juvenile/insecure posters who jumped to the conclusion that a Swimsuit Model currently enjoying her 15 minutes of fame was about to dump Andy Roddick because he lost his hair.

Never said it was just women. Hollywood pretty boys with no acting chops fade away the same as their female counterparts. That's why Kutcher found himself a sugar mamma :)

I couldn't help but notice that is looks like his hair may be less than what it once was

Yeah, you and 50 million other people. Thanks Capt. Obvious.

Funniest post ever............50 million people didn't tune in to that match, that's preposterous. We're talking tennis here, darts and bowling probably have stronger numbers.

Sadly

Re Paul McCartney with his vast wealth and resources I am sure there is something he could have done to prevent forking over all that money in the event of a divorce--i.e some loophole, etc. In his case, he stated that he did not believe in marriage contracts I think which has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. In any case, he was a moron and either he should have done something if possible to protect his wealth in the UK or just not marry her. The domestic laws are going to change with respect to marital contracts in the UK from what I understand. All of that is underway now.

I think that a lot of people are stupid when it comes to love and not signing a marriage contract but I think most people with any substantial wealth would have a marriage contract and I would think Roddick would be one of them or I would hope so!

In 2011 no one has to be bald...
For 7-10k, he can get a brand new head of his own hair for life....
I would imagine he's got that kind of change laying around somewhere....

It just might not be that important to him..

he wouldnt have thrown that cap back on so fast straight after the point if he wasnt self conscious about it.. but really, who cares.. the guy is a millonaire and living a life many would dream of and gets to retire in his early thirties.. id trade my head of hair for that :)

A few quick things:

1) You and I may finally agree about the publicity stunt issue. I have read some questionable things about the validity of their whole marriage. Who knows whether it is just gossip or if there is some truth to it. I have read some blind items in the gossip mags about Roddick and his proclivities.

2) I don't agree that Brooke has faded completely from the public consciousness. I think she would be able to get acting jobs in tv fairly easily still. She still does tons of commercials and they pay well. Plus, she could still get a beauty contract--i.e. a perfume or a skin product maybe for women over 40. She is still very pretty. I do agree that Brooke was bigger than Brooklyn but who knows what Brooklyn will do or become involved in. She is still very young and has many things open to her.

3) Re Ashton and Demi, I give that one about 20 more minutes! :)

^^
Might have been to harsh on Brooke in retrospect, I mean she's an 80's icon after all. Brooklyn, well, she's more of the flavor of the month.

Let's get something straight. She needs him waaaaay more than he needs her.

Nope. I doubt that even "now" A-Rod is worth more than Brooklyn. But he could be,
In any case, Brookly can make LOADS of money in Hollywood, given that she is young and already started on movies. An above average hollywood actor/actress makes more money than a TOP tennis player.

That's the way things are. It's unfortunate coz the 20 mill that some of these movie folks get is like winning 12-15 majors w.r.t prize money. Tennis players are valued less in terms of $$ than showbiz celebrities, where as it should be the other way round. I mean, it's waaay hard to be a Fed/Nadal obviously..

All said and done, Brooklyn Decker actually IS out of A-Rod's league. He got lucky and latched on to her early in her career. Now he's going down and she's going UP.

Watch this space -- a big divorce coming up by the end of 2012 (if not much before)..

Andy's looks have really declined over the years. Meanwhile Fed has gotten more handsome and maintained his full head of hair.

Fed hasn't maintained his full head of hair. He's losing his in a hurry too. He's going to be as follicly challenged as Andy pretty soon. And if you think he's handsome....well, okey dokey...different strokes for different folks I guess. :-?

0dJ3gdO6HA9xy.jpg

He got lit up on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption for his receding hairline... I really can't say anything myself. I'm 30 and starting to get gray hairs.

Funny thing...in men grey hair is said to make you look distinguished...in women, it just makes you look old. Makes sense...woomen no longer have to attract men to procreate the species (as if we need more people) whereas men can contribute to over population until they die and will always be attractive to younger women who fall for the distinguished look.

Roddick may be under a period of stress as well. A lot of peoples hair thins and then grows back in part with the follicle maturization process. You never know.

Just now I saw some local TV sports panellists selecting Roddick's matchpoint effort as their "Play of the Day". Even these non-tennis guys couldn't help but notice the extent of Roddick's follicular problems and make fun of it.

LOL, only here could a guy's baldness garner 75 posts:) I know Nadal had a few too. Now for the average guy, there's some concern, but I'll bet neither of these guys are too worried about it.

You are all crazy, stupid, jealous and ignorant. You are either 17 years old, all of you or very stupid and you have time on your hand and no job maybe. You are certainly not a multi-millionaire with a very beautiful wife. I pity all of you.

I was thinking the same thing. and he may have shaved it to help him stay cooler on court... No shortage of sweat when he plays...:|

Want to mention one thing, hair loss is usually a side-effect of using PED. Not saying Andy is losing hair because of that. I have not seen pictures of Andy's father or grandfather.

didn't seem that way at all considering the first thing he did was put cap on after point.

also pretty sure hair transplant leaves very noticeable scar on back of head and i sure its complicated process

yesterday when they were talking about it, they mentioned kutcher and mcConaughey had hair transplants but it worked for them since they only have receding hairline

According to Celebritynetworth:

Andy Roddick - 30 million
Brooklyn Decker - 4 million

30 > 4

She's by no means out of his league.

All said and done, Brooklyn Decker actually IS out of A-Rod's league. He got lucky and latched on to her early in her career. Now he's going down and she's going UP.

You guys crack me up. Brooklyn Decker is no more famous, and will probably never be more famous than Bridgette Wilson was in her heyday. Hell, even she did an Adam Sandler movie.

It's really indicative of the maturity level of these boards when most tend to think that just because a girl is really pretty, and Decker is hot, that she can somehow start commanding 20 million per picture like the top Hollywood actresses. Or that she'll dump her much wealthier BF because he's loosing his hair.

Pretty girls with big tatas are a dime a dozen and usually have short careers.......... Brooklyn Decker knows this, this is why she married Andy Roddick.

I get the feeling most posters here think you have to be some sort of Brad Pitt demi-god to bag a hot girlfriend. Time to get out of the house boys.

Rafa's also going bald, they're probably both drinking from the same 'fountain' of hairloss ;)

Yes, but in Andy's case, the side effects were reversed, by that I mean that instead of manically picking his back side he started frantically fiddling with his front end.

Did anyone else notice that? During the match, Andy kept grabbing his bon-bon's (and then wiping his face I might add ) as though he had just gotten back from a bachelor party in Bangkok.......it was pretty disturbing.

Interesting observation. Sometimes when I wear hats I get a strange part in the back that kind of makes the back of my head look odd, but that does look like a bald spot.

I mean, he's pushing 29 so it wouldn't exactly be surprising. But, hey, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care given what his wife looks like.

yes, it appears when you wear cap for long time. Your hairs get aligned to some angle exposing a gap.

I cant believe some of you losers think that Andy Roddick is the lucky one. Dude has been a big professional athlete for years and is worth more. Go look at all the F1 drivers gf's or the soccer players gf's. Nobody says the guys are the lucky ones in those relationships. Models are just models, their entire careers are based upon their looks. I can tell some of the posters on here never talk to girls in real life.

Exactly, a lot of 15 y/o's that quiver at the thought of talking to an actual woman.

Here's the thought process:

"Roddick is ugly and Brooklyn is uber-mega-super-hot-lolerz-noob. Andy is soooooooooooooooooo lucky to be with a hot chick, Brooklyn's going to dump him and Andy will get powned! Hot chicks are the most valuable commodity on earth and we must do everything they ask of us so we can see their tatas....................burp!"

lmfao 10 char :):)

on a side note: in that regard it really makes Federer's spouse choice distinct.

Wow there are just some utterly rediculous posts on this thread. Let me clear them up for you.

Roddick has way more money that bdecker ever will.

If they have a real relationship she will not divorce him if he goes bald.

bdecker is NOT a supermodel or famous in the US let alone outside the US

Roddick can be as bald as davydenko and lubicic and he will still be able to get pretty much any girl he wants.

The new hair transplants are virtually undetectable

Fed and annacone couldnt care less about roddicks hairloss lol

Roddick has been a top 10 player for 10 years now. Only Federer can also claim that. Show Roddick some respect.

under-nourished?

He's in great shape.

Probably balding because he wears that hat all the time.

The hat has nothing to do with his hair loss. It is simply male pattern baldness, and can affect men of any age, and will be experienced on some level by 50% of ALL men by age 50.

There is nothing surprising or unusual about the onset or progression of Andy's hair loss. What might be surprising however, is that he hasn't done anything about it -- given that he seems so self conscious about it. He could easily have swung over to Beverly Hills and had hair restoration surgery at Bosley, when his hair started thinning, if it was going to be a problem for him.

My guess is that , although he may be a bit self conscious and insecure about it, he must be quite secure in the knowledge that Brooklyn has no problem with his hairline.

lol dude we all love roddick.
he just.. looks like he lost the snow on his roof.
his wife looks plastic btw

He needs to do an Agassi. Will feel much more liberated. I've seen him post twitter pictures of himself with his dog at home with a hat on. Who wears a hat at home with their dog?

Do you think Roddick has talked with Agassi about hair loss? Roddick seems to be going through the same demons agassi had.

But guys it must be tough to go bald at such a young age. Poor guy. He chose the hat option to the hair piece. He does have a case of receding and bald spot. I got a small spot myself and find it annoying but at least I don't have to look at it in the mirror everyday. Imagine that kind of insecurity with the attention he gets. Thats why I think he should do an Agassi. Agassi needs to call him.
