Is Andy Roddick going bald???

Fed hasn't maintained his full head of hair. He's losing his in a hurry too. He's going to be as follicly challenged as Andy pretty soon. And if you think he's handsome....well, okey dokey...different strokes for different folks I guess. :-?

Federer losing his hair? Oh, shudder at the thought of that! Honestly, I don't think he is losing his hair. I think he just has a weird hairline. His hair still looks thick and great to me.

Re Federer and his looks, I will just say this once but he is sexy as hell! :)

But guys it must be tough to go bald at such a young age. Poor guy. He chose the hat option to the hair piece. He does have a case of receding and bald spot. I got a small spot myself and find it annoying but at least I don't have to look at it in the mirror everyday. Imagine that kind of insecurity with the attention he gets. Thats why I think he should do an Agassi. Agassi needs to call him.

What would Agassi say, what advice would Agassi give?

Roddick needs to look on the bright side... Only a matter of time before they remake Kojak and he's in the box seat for the role. Will set him up nicely as his tennis career winds down.

I feel bad for Roddick. Hair is nice to have. I heard you get much of your hair genetics from your mom's father. Therefore, I should be safe since my grandfather had a full head into his 70's, then he died with thick grey hair. Regardless, I worry.

1) You and I may finally agree about the publicity stunt issue. I have read some questionable things about the validity of their whole marriage. Who knows whether it is just gossip or if there is some truth to it. I have read some blind items in the gossip mags about Roddick and his proclivities.

Um, what? Elaborate please. Enquiring minds want to know.

Wow there are just some utterly rediculous posts on this thread. Let me clear them up for you.

Roddick has way more money that bdecker ever will.

If they have a real relationship she will not divorce him if he goes bald.

I don't think anyone thinks Bdecker will leave him if he goes bald. If she's willing to tolerate all that disgusting nut scratching I can't imagine that a few bald spots is going to turn her off.

No, those of us who think she will divorce him think it will happen if her career takes off and she is surrounded by hot hollywood men and/or when she comes to the realization that 21 was way too young to get married.

lol. Federer is not going bald in a hurry. His hair growth is just fine.By the french open his hair will probably be ridiculously long like it was last year. I would not compare him to Roddick either. Andy is one year younger than Rog and is balding badly, whereas Rog still has a whole head full of hair.

Also, I don't think that photo is conclusive of anything. Federer has always had that type of hairline along with a huge forehead.

Oh it is nothing. Just I remember reading a few blind items a couple of years ago about a tennis player who had been with many high profile women but in reality may not be what you think he is. Don't want to say more than that and get booted off of here. If you google Andy Roddick Blind item you should be able to see what I mean. With that type of stuff you have to take it with a grain of salt and who knows if any of it is the truth, but nothing would shock me.

You heard wrong. It's not known where you get it from exactly. Your family can help give a general idea, but your entire family can have hair and you can start to lose it. Nothing is definite.

Yup. You can inherit baldness from your mother or father's side of the family.

This is because of the excessive profuse sweating that he always does, that excessive moisture (i.e. river that spews from his dome) everytime he plays, the water and chemicals from his body work their way into the hair follicles and makes the actual hair just slide right out like just like a greasy chili dog slides out of the bun when you try to bite it.

There you have it............

All you young guys making fun of Roddick remember there is Karma and you could face the same situation. Roddick has a sense of humor I think he should just embrace it and go the Agassi Route or he will be like one of those golfers you can never recognize without their hat on. Black guys can pull off the bald look so much better than others. Go for it Andy shave it off and grow a mustache :)

I am old and have a full head of hair........so much for Karma

There are ways to stunt hair loss anyway. I am surprised in desperation at his young age he wouldnt use any of them.

Have we considered that its maybe affecting his game? When he sees Roger shaking his flowing hair and Nadal with his long yet balding locks and Djoko with the thick carpet maybe it affects his game :)

Every word in that post could have been written by me. Got the same situation with my mothers father, same opinion about hair and I too worry. A lot actually.

I've seen in the last year that my hairline is receding just a tiny little bit, yet it can be noticed - and I'm turning 21 this year.

Guys, it's just hair.

I'll take thinning hair, US Open title, and SI swimsuit model for a $100, Alex.

People who don't lose hair don't realize how big a deal it is. That's the whole point all that stuff is not going to get his hair back. From your profile pic I see your black. Either u got too much hair or if your losing it u can pull off the bald look which most people cannot.

People with a lot of money have trying to get hair back look at the birds nest on Donald Trumps head. Its not the money. It does mean a lot to you. I have a spot myself and I would have considered becoming jewish :)

You don't go bald because you wear a hat all the time. You go bald because you inhereit the baldness gene from one of your ancestral gene donors. Andy will be very bald by next year. After the amazing shot. Quick, Andy, cover your head!!

Exactly. I've had a receding hairline for a couple years and my grandfather on my mothers side is bald so I expect to be bald in the future. Do I care? Not really because I'll just shave my head.

Lately I've been so paranoid about the thickness of my hair I have been checking high school pictures to see if anything has changed. I got nervous after hairs seemed to be falling in the shower. I think things are normal, but I keep feeling like my hair is just a bit thinner. Like 10%. LOL

Stress causes hair loss. Its the number 1 reason. You never know, roddick may be under a lot of stress, ive seen people's hair thin out and it grew back in a couple months. I hope roddicks will grow back.

The worst part of losing your hair is the in between period. Andre was there and Roddick looks to be there. That is when you get paranoid and freak out about it. Once you've gotten to place where you admit to yourself that you've lost it, you much more at peace.

Everybody in this thread is crazy.....if you are obsessing about your hair, take note that Andy is not. Even if he has a small bald spot, he has hair on his head. And Andy is not vain, why would he shave his hair just to please you,??? You are all a bunch of stupid men who are jealous. You take time to discuss hair loss of a tennis player who does not even care about it.....why should you care ??????/ MORONS.....

This is so nice to hear, because I'm exactly the same! Not nice in the spiteful way, more "nice to have someone to share the experience with". :)

I guess it's quite normal to have some hair in the drainage after you've showered, right?

Every day a person loses between 50-100 hairs a day.

Start counting!

Yes, but in Andy's case, the side effects were reversed, by that I mean that instead of manically picking his back side he started frantically fiddling with his front end.

Did anyone else notice that? During the match, Andy kept grabbing his bon-bon's (and then wiping his face I might add ) as though he had just gotten back from a bachelor party in Bangkok.......it was pretty disturbing.

As a person of Thai descent, I have to ask what are you trying to convey or imply, and why use that city and not Vegas or something?
