Is Cilic the ultimate H2H MUG?

Nadal and Djokovic (and Sampras before them) are often lauded as the H2H GOATs given how great they've been against all their peers, but what about the H2H MUG? Marin Cilic makes a strong candidate here. He's a very good player who's won a slam, been runner-up 2 other times and has a Masters and Davis Cup title to his name as well - a very good resume. However, when we look at how he plays against his peers it starts looking ugly.

For his career, he is:

2-17 vs Djokovic
2-7 vs Nadal
1-9 vs Federer
3-12 vs Murray
2-13 vs Wawrinka
2-11 vs Del Potro
1-6 vs Zverev
1-6 vs Simon (LOL)
0-4 vs Monfils
0-3 vs Sock (LMAOOOO)
0-3 vs Soderling
2-4 vs Nalbandian and Ferrer
6-9 vs Nishikori

In total, he is 32-81 (28%) against top 10 players and 46-171 (21%) against players who've been ranked in the top 10...OUCH!

I really can't think of another player, especially a former slam champion, who's had such an abysmal record against all their contemporaries.

Berdych actually has a pretty respectable record against anyone outside Nadal and Djokovic. Even though he’s 6-20 vs Federer, he was 5-3 vs Federer between 2010-2013 when Birdman was at his “peak.”

True, he did beat all the big 3 in Slams before too. I just looked him up and Berdych is 29.9% against the top 10 so not far from Cilic's numbers.

What about Ferrer? Not as bad as Cilic, but against the absolute best, he's as bad or worse than Cilic's percentages with more matches played.

Yea Ferrer is quite abysmal against the top guys as well. It’s still not nearly as bad as Cilic though as Ferrer has a pretty good record against pretty much everyone else outside the big 3/4. Cilic has a losing record against virtually every player worth a damn lol
