Is DIET Coke bad for you?

Dude,

Just don't drink 50 cans/day. There is no empirical evidence that shows Aspartame in small amounts is brain damaging or a carcinogen.

OK, I know there have been lots of discussions re: the effects of soda on overall health, etc. My question is, what are the bad side effects of DIET Coke, not regular sugar filled soda. Is the artificial sweetner bad for you? Should I just drink regular Coke, but decrease the amount? I know alot of people say Diet Coke makes you fat! LOL

I drink several (maybe 3-4 cans worth) per day. Still in decent shape (165lbs, approx 18% BF, 32" waist; little bit of the love handle, 5'10").

Just getting opinions...

Thanks.

3 to 4 cans of any soda (diet or not) is not good for you.

Coke zero is sweetened by splenda which is totally different from aspartame. It is an analogue of natural sugar and seems to be "safer" than aspartame.

Splenda is made with a chlorinated sugar. It's also toxic.

This is where I agree with Darwin. People who can't resist toxic drinks deserve the consequences, especially with all the data available on the risks.

Soda is bad. Diet Soda is worst. People who're addicted get all worked up when you say this to them, but it's the truth. I'm happy I'm not addicted to the stuff. I just drink water.

The M.S. and oxygenation parts are difficult to accept given the evidence, but the rest are actually plausible, if not fully proven.
