Is Djokovic a bigger threat to Fed than Nadal nowadays?

Since Djokovic 2.0 emerged, he's lost to Fed only once in 7 matches.

2011 Dubai F: Djokovic 6-3, 6-3
2011 AO SF: Djokovic 7-6(3), 7-5, 6-4

Djokovic 6-1

In the same period, Nadal has lost to Fed twice in 6 matches.

2011 Madrid SF: Nadal 5-7, 6-1, 6-3
2011 Miami SF: Nadal 6-3, 6-2

Nadal 4-2

Granted, Fed's become a punching bag for both of these guys, losing 10 of 13 matches. But Djoko seems to be winning more consistently against him. :)

Well based on the last two US Open semfinals, I think unfortunately Djokovich has gained a mental edge of Federer similar to (though not to the same extent) how Nadal has. Federer should have won both of those matches. He led both of those matches from the beginning. He had two match points in both of those matches. Yet in the big moments, it was as if Federer looked across the net and saw Nadal.

I actually think that Djokovic will have a winning head to head, against both Nadal and Federer, by next year.

Wow, as a Fed fan, this stat is most telling, and indeed most depressing. I hadn't realized it has been 10 of 13.

Being almost 31 is the problem here. Novak is same age now as Fed was in 2006. How many 30+ year olds did Fed lose to in 2006? ZERO!

Having said that, stop being a dumb Fed hating troll Jackson vile and focus on what you gonna do tomorrow when Nadal whoops your so called GOAT. You got some though choices to make eh? Jump back on Nadal bandwagon and face ridicule maybe? Or wait and seee what happens at Wimbledon?

No matter how the final ends, it won't be a beating... That would have happened if Fred won the semi though. Possibly a double or triple bagel from Nadal.

It's interesting that before Wimbledon 2012, Federer led Djokovic 14-12 in H2H. He's leading him now 20-18, which means that they won the same number of matches against each other (even in Majors) since July 2012.

That's scary good from Fed, knowing that he's declining and Djokovic is peaking again.

Djokovic hits a steadier, flatter ball than Nadal, and Federer doesn't need to change anything in his game.

Basically, their matches are almost always very close. Federer has to serve exceptionally well to win, and since serve doesn't decline much with age, he has held up well against Novak in the H2H.

Novak was always greater than Roger. Now people are realizing it as it is getting pretty evident.

Sampras is greater than Djokovic.
Federer is greater than Sampras.

So, how can Djokovic be greater than Federer if he isn't greater than Sampras?

Nadal will always be the toughest player for Federer because of numerous reasons, one of them being he is the best player Federer ever faced.

Since this thread was made, Fed-Djokovic H2H is 6-6 (1-1 at slams, both at Wimbledon). Say the roles were reversed, 25-27 year old Fed (2006-2008) faced 31-33 year old Djokovic, will the H2H be equal?

Not in best of five. Federer is almost surely finished there against Djokovic.

Federer must play his absolute best to beat Djokovic in best of three now. If he wins again, Djokovic will make the proper adjustments. He is that good (these days).

Not a fan of all this statistical acrobatics folks are using to make Fed look bad, but the thread title is definitely true right now.

Fedal are not consistent enough as a unit to meet much anymore.

I don't even think Federer is going to meet Djokovic much more.
