Is Djokovic better than Federer on every surface?

Is Djokovic better on all surfaces?

Umm only a little far off on grass. As for hard I personally think there's a world of difference between USO and AO courts.

6 to 8 Slams on grass but:

2020 edition wasn't held,
3-0 h2h in Wimbledon finals,
Djokovic is at the peak of his dominance (won last 3 editions) and could add more titles
Does 6 matches played in 2004/2005/2006/2007 compared to 19 matches played in 2011/2012/2015/2016 play any factor in the h2h?

I think djokovic is clearly better on the modern grass. 3-1 is a decent sample size.

in b4 “Federer old” when he reached 5 finals and another SF in his 30s

Clay is pretty even. Its only Nadal standing in the way for both of them, or else their clay titles would be just as balanced as the rest, with multiple FOs. In other words, none of them beats Nadal at his best on clay, Federer was more "unlucky" because his peak coincided more with Nadals clay peak.

Federer the better grass court player. 3-0 in finals when Djokovic couldnt beat Fed on grass before Fed was 33y old is irrelevant when it comes to peak for peak. Its pretty laughable that a rivalry from 33y old to 38y old is used against him.

Djoko better on slow/medium slow HC, Federer better on fast/ medium fast.

According to his haters, Federer will always be the only player in history who won the most when he played his worst tennis, ans he won almost nothing when he played his best.

To be fair, Federer's age advantage in 2004, 2005, and 2006 was absolutely huge and FAR bigger than Djokovic's age advantage in any of 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2016. 2007 is the only year where the age advantage was comparable.

Blue clay, an experiment that lasted for one tournament being listed as a "surface" to pad Federer's résumé

Nadal cried a lot on blue clay and threatened to boycott clay if that surface was not removed.

Sadly Djokovic also supported Nadal....

Djokovic is only better on freshly-surfaced Plexicushion and snow, though Roger's time skiing in the Swiss Alps calls that into question, too.

And?

If you're going to count blue clay as a "surface," you may as well add the grass/clay combination Federer and Nadal played in that exho as a "surface"

I can count Green clay as a surface on which Connors won. That was similar to Blue clay....

They were obviously going to listen to Nadal regardless of what Djokovic had to say

I hope one day after Nadal retires they'll try it again, because it made for a much better viewing experience

Organizers should not always listen to everything the players say, if Nadal cannot adapt to blue clay and wants to boycott it then thats his problem, someone else like Federer or Verdasco will win, game is bigger than Nadal or Federer or anyone.

I’ll just point out that very few people can/have done what Roger was capable of doing to Novak on certain occasions. Obviously, Fed’s skill set is pretty unique but he’s one of the few who has “more talent” (for lack of better term) and imagination to both surprise Novak with his solutions time and again and have enough quality to pull it off for sufficient amount of time (to win the match). Think RG 2011. Even that may not be enough (think SW 2019), obviously, but I feel like it was hard for a Fed to get into/hold on to those states of mind to consistently beat Nole in the biggest matches. Rafa can do that much better...maybe because he does that almost every match regardless who’s he playing...

All of Fed’s wins at Wimbledon were on the same speed grass as Nole’s grass, so lol at that. And Fed equal to Nole on clay? I guess I missed the part where Fed equaled Nole in FOs, Clay Masters, total clay tournaments won, and clay winning percentage. Also, I would like to see the matches where Fed beat Nadal at the French.

Yes. Even on grass. Cow wouldn't have half his Wimbledon titles if he came up against any real competition as opposed to Roddick, Philippoussis, Bjorkman, Grosjean, etc.

They can't adapt to a new environment. They lost early, but Federer learned to adapt and won the tournament.

Triac had to replace the blue clay back to red because Djokodal threaten to boycott the event in the future.

Despite with all the advantage they enjoy when the ATP/ITF turned the era into homogenization, they couldn't leave the blue clay alone and force Triac to abolish the surface.

Also, how come Federer 03-06 is simultaneously on fast and slow grass?

Because Federer's game is perfect for both types of grass, he actually played SNV in 2003 and won the title on a grass that was behaving like old grass, he won't have to change anything, his game is fine for that old grass too, just has to play a few matches to get the grip or it.
