I think federer is due a big grand slam win over djokovic,in big 3 matches each outcome has taken place atleast once in last 4 years with nadal beating djokovic being the latest ,do you think federer deserves one as he was a point away from it last year. If federer gets it will it be at Wimbledon or somewhere else

He fcked up. He'll retire as Djoko's b!tch.
That's right, Mike.

Merry Christmas.

Sir, he Didn't take his chances when they were present in uso 2011, wim 2014, uso 2015, wim 2019,
I think the ship has sailed, even though I massively respect the swiss legend. Novak Djokovic is not the guy he should face en route to his next (if any) slam triumph. Its not like he does not have the game and tools to take down the Serb, its that he lacks the clutch in general against him.

He deserves nothing. The late career 2014-16 losses he racked up were annoying, and I was always a little frustrated he didn't get another crack at him during his strong January 2017 - January 2018 stretch, but it wasn't a huge deal to me because those losses were already kind of balanced out by Fed beating him so many times back in that early 2007-12 period.

So he wasn't even necessarily due a win in 2019 but he got a good look at it anyway and he blew it. He'll never get a better opportunity than that.

No. He had his chance, and blew it with 40-15.

Now he is almost 40 years old. Nothing is due to him. If he gets a win over Djokovic in a slam, it's a bonus, not a right, considering his age. He shouldn't be expected to beat Novak in a slam, although it may still be possible.

if Djokovic sustains a serious injury during the match and either can't continue play or his level drops so hard that he basically become a challenger player, then maybe

under normal conditions, it's hard to see how unless Fed magically regains his 2017 form for one match

Wimby 2020.
I sped up my response to be the first accurate answer, but you sped up your response to (Wimby instead of Wimbledon) to be the first person to respond with "Wimby 2020". Did you really think you were racing against the clock?

Edit: This was a joke. It's hard for me to make jokes without being offensive

In the last three years since W2018, it seems like to beat Djokovic in a Slam, you either have to outhit him with raw power like Thiem/Wawrinka (2019RG, 2019USO) or outdefense him like Nadal on slow clay (2020RG). Federer can‘t do either at this twilight stage of his career over five sets against Djokovic who is always highly motivated against Federer. If Djokovic is carrying an injury, a shock loss could happen and players in their mid-Thirties can be prone to niggling injuries over a 2-week tournament - so, who knows.
