Is federer losing good for tennis? Opportunities for more Nadal-fed?

The more federer loses early in tournaments, the lower his ranking drops. The lower his ranking drops, the more likely he is to meet top players earlier in tournaments (Nadal, Murray and Djokovic). For example, assuming federer continues to lose most of his matches, he'll soon be out of the top 8, and can meet Nadal, Murray and Djokovic in the 4th round. Eventually, when federer becomes unseeded, we can see blockbuster 'big 4' matches, such as Nadal-federer in the first or second round of a slam. And we all know that federer draws fans to the stadium like slimy maggots to rotting garbage.

So is federer losing and dropping points good for tennis, since we can see federer face his biggest rivals much earlier in the tournament?

Rafael "The opportunist" Nadal would love to play Federer more now that he's in form while Federer is crap.

For all intents and purposes he is already out of the top 10.

Depends on who you ask.

He's still the biggest draw in the sport and the biggest name. The guys who do TV and organize tournaments don't want him to lose.

I'm sure most of his fans don't want him to lose.

I'm sure Fed haters like you do want him to lose. Pretty simple really.
