Is Federer's streak of winning or losing to eventual champion at 23 Consecutive Grand Slams one of the most underrated streaks in tennis history?

Federer matches vs Djokovic --> 50
Federer matches vs Nadal --> 40
Federer matches vs Sampras --> 1

Federer and Sampras belong to different eras.
Nope....I was referring to your post were you said Hewitt did no win any slams in 2004/05 because he faced tougher competition (Federer), as opposed to 2001/02 (Sampras) were he won two. So you’re basically admitting Fed is tougher competition than Pete.

Also:

Peak ELO Ferrer (Acapulco 2013) was about to suffer his 23rd consecutive loss against healthy Big 3 having taken a grand total of 4 sets in those matches combined. Way better than the ELO weaklings Hewitt, Roddick and especially Safin could've ever done.

Hewitt is 0-17 against top5 ranked ATGs at Slams...

Roddick, Hewitt are punchbags to the strong tennis players just as much as Ferrer, Berdych, Tsonga, etc.

Sampras was not a dominant force at the time.

Hello there, Mr Hewitt. I'm Andy. Welcome to my humble abode. You will find nothing else like it and I'm sure you will feel right at home in no time.

Yes it is important, and only for real tennis nerds. It shows that for nearly seven years he had no drops in form. Whoever beat him was always playing well enough to win the tournament.

Stakhovsky & Istomin = BOAT journeymen?

Straight setting Sampras at the USO in a final with two breadsticks. Beating the likes of "top 5 ranked" Federer in a huge Davis Cup match. Straight setting clay ATG Kuerten on clay in a peak year on home soil. Beat year end #2 Nadal at the AO etc...

Hewitt has plenty of great wins in big BO5 matches considering his prime was cut short at 25.

No, we are talking about streaks at slams. The greatest streak will always be consecutive slams won
Of course, then finals, then SFs...
How important in GOAT-talk world is the 23 consecutive (either measure) stat? I don't know, but it was a highly impressive accomplishment by Fed. And yes, Novak came close - not in total number, but in consideration of that epic QF loss to Stan.

It says a lot about how ridiculous his consistency was during his prime years. But then again. The average height of the players he met was lower than 6'5". So if anything it's probably overrated.
