Is it possible to get 6 pack abs just from playing tennis

We see most pro tennis players have 6 pack when they lift their shirts.

Is it possible to get hot just from playing tennis? If so, how many hours a week to get the 6 pack?

Please inform how is your body shape before answering, Thanks!

I'm slim skin and bones, love coke and hate salad. But play only 1 hour a week these days.

I'm a mesomorph, is that what you mean by shape?

I don't have the entire six defined but women still call it that, so it is what it is. And no I don't do any work for it. My diet is weird, when I start to get bloated I will just fast until my weight falls below 140.

Playing weight is about 132-135, but I can easily go below that. Once I get sub-130, you can see visible veins in my abdomen

Haven't done a crunch or a sit-up in decades. Good for strength but hard on the back, and does nothing for ab definition.

Diet, exercise, and body type; I have no idea in what order they go or what the weight [no pun intended] is of each.

- Someone with an excellent diet and diligent exercise but weighs 300lbs might have the 6-pack but it's not visible because it's underneath a layer of fat that covers it.
- Someone who is thin and exercises but has a poor diet might still have a mini-gut
- Someone who is thin and has a great diet but doesn't exercise might have a partial pack but he could be a lot more well-defined if he targeted those areas with exercise

It’s about the percentage of body fat. How you attain that is up to you. Some people are naturally lean from childhood, others have to manufacture it through diet and exercise.

People are talking about being lean is all it matters. I am Alcaraz height but 150lbs, so much that my bones are always on display under my skin, but no abs.

Perhaps i need to train more serves to develop some or start playing pickleball since there looks to be more crouching happening there.

folks are talking about body fat percentage, not how big or how slim you are. You can be thin and have bones showing but have a considerable percentage of body fat. Once you reduce your body fat to the point where you have very little abdominal fat, your abs will show.

This sucks! Guess it ain't easy being hot loving coke like i do.

Simple answer concerning myself, not only no but hell no…with the amount of tennis playing vs beer drinking I do. :D

Lol, i already take to much caffeine so it is not the second. Probably the reason i'm not getting any abs even being skinny. But let's not forget there is also the korean interpretation.

Reported!!!

For racism

I also laughed though :-D... so see you in hell

I think it is possible if your diet is decent.

Depends on how hard you train/play on the tennis court. Easier when you are younger.

i was playing 8-10h a week, and managed to gain 50lbs over a couple years.
changed my diet, and lost it all (no/minimal change in exercise routine)

Does this means that tennis actually can get you fat if you don't control your diet?

this. people are shocked when they find out how few calories are burned from exercising.

1 hr of tennis is about 500 calories. that's the equivalent of 1 bagel with cream cheese or 1 jumbo size candy bar.

I think those smart watches over-estimate calories burned: my buddy's watch said 2000 cals for a little over 2 hours of singles; seems rather high to me.

Then i'll go diet coke.

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but diet coke creates an insulin response in the body -- which then encounters no sugar in your blood stream. among other things, this can increase the chance of type 2 diabetes and it makes your body more effective at extracting calories from the carb you do eat. this is a reason why many diet soda drinkers find it harder to lose weight.

So i'm just screwed everywhere i go.

whenever you eat carbs youre always gonna get more than you bargained for because carbs store water. carbs are the enemy! didn't you learn anything from Fat *******?

just no carbs and no sugar. drink the diet coke. you wanna go crazy? whatever anybody says, diet coke>coke. you're allowed to have weaknesses

Most get carried away and avoid sodas. I've been skinny forever. whilst I'm capable of getting puffy, it's never been because I had 3 diet cokes instead of 2. mix it with water even

Yeah, i don't want to go crazier than i already am.

should change the title of the thread to "how do i get 6 pack abs without exercising & while stuffing my face with crap?"
the sequel being, "how do i become a millionaire while not making any money, and spending what i do have?"
Life is full of contradictions. But now with diet coke and a few more hours per week of tennis i'm confident it is just a matter of time until the packs start appearing.

Carbs are not the enemy. Carb-phobia is another fad diet belief. Athletes who need a lot of calories will get their often get those extra calories from carb sources so that they have some glycogen stored in the liver and muscles for burning

Some carbs are better than others. Best to avoid added sugars & artificial sweeteners. Minimize carbs carbs with a high glycemic impact, like white bread and white rice. Some can be eaten with a meal that contain protein, good fats and fiber. But best to avoid eating those high glycemic carbs as a snack. And don't start your meal with them

There are some sugar alternatives that are better than artificial sweeteners. Stevia, monk fruit and sugar alcohols are better than artificial sweeteners. One of the better sugar alcohols would be erythritol. But still best to refrain from overdoing sugar alcohols, especially xylitol

How about red wine and chocolate?
Is that a good alternative to diet coke and candy?

Red wine & Dark choc in moderation. I usually drink ice water instead of soft drinks. Or a flavored water.

There are some sweet low-calorie or zero calorie teas and other drinks that use stevia &/or sugar alcohol. Zevia makes both teas & soft drinks like this. Their PassionFruit tea is very tasty & contains no caffeine. Raspberry tea if you want some caffeine. For their sodas, the Creme Soda has a mild taste that I like

Pinot Noir (red) is one of the healthiest (highest in resveratol) and lowest calorie red wines. Naturally lower in sugar than other wines. For a 5 oz serving it has ~120 calories vs more than 200 for other wines.

Many alcoholic drinks contain calories from both the alcohol content as well as its sugar content. A Pina Colada can contain 600 calories for one drink.
