Is it possible to get 6 pack abs just from playing tennis

Trying a new breakfast for a week.
- 2 poached eggs
- 1 chicken sausage
- leafy greens with olive oil
- small cup of yogurt
- bowl filled with sunflower seed, pumpkin seeds, pecans, pistacios, dried figs, dried cranberries.
- Salmon lox
- a few pieces of pineapple, watermelon, papaya
- 1 croissant with kumquat jam
- 2 pieces of roti prata with fish sauce
- 1 chocolate muffin
- small bowl of steamed lettuce, cauliflower, carrots
- 1 cup guava juice

Breakfast seems to be mostly healthy stuff?

My lunch is usually smaller, but dinner slightly bigger.

Will measure my weight and bodyfat at the end of the week.

If you're concentrating on how big each meal should be, follow the old saw "Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince, and dinner like a Pauper."

The idea being that the earlier meals can be bigger because you still have plenty of time to burn off calories. By the time you hit dinner, many are sedentary after that.

Or you could go the TRF [time restricted feeding] method of eating only 2 meals per day [or even 1].

Yes. I am thinking that if I make my earlier meals bigger then it will make it easier for me to have a small, earlier dinner.

Why would you want to do that? Just stick to a healthy plant-based/seafood 3 meals a day with plenty of exercises and you will get six packs in no time. Don't try to over complicate things.

Yeah i'm not really on board with a small dinner. like do you really want to do that? have to balance a bit with enjoyment. Some of this is maybe personal preference but if i was gonna scale back on quantity, I would make lunch a lighter meal and then look forward to dinner.

What also helps is taking a walk after dinner when you're able, helps with digestion and work off the meal a bit.

Everybody can decide for himself whether modifying portion size depending on which meal is overly complicated. The logic seems sound to me and it's simple.

Everyone's different. I sometimes skip dinner because I get home from tennis so late that I wouldn't have time to digest. Yeah, I'm hungry but it's no problem for me.

Walking's definitely good, no matter how big/small the meal.

I thought the original question was to get a six pack, no?

If that's the case, just eat and train like Djokovic and one will get a six pack in no time.

Didn't quite work every day. One day I felt very hungry and ate 3 additional meals, including a burger late at night around 10pm.

Seems to be easier for me to make my last meal bigger and then skip breakfast.

- Someone who is thin and exercises but has a poor diet might still have a mini-gut

This year I reached the age where I've begun to fear I may be headed down this path...

But I started eating more because when I was thinner I felt like I was lacking in endurance.
Helped tremendously. Not sure if at this point it's a trade-off or I'm simply self-indulgent.

Are gummy bears part of your diet?

Everyone has different responses. At the very least, eating 2 meals per day allows your body a longer rest when it's not digesting and trying to control blood sugar levels.

I lost 10lbs, not by eating less but by changing my diet [no more soda, cut way back on simple carbs, more complex carbs, more veg, etc]. One of the most obvious changes was that my love handles got a lot smaller, something that's very difficult to do with exercise alone.

2 meals per day might be difficult for me but having a smaller window of eating seems sustainable.

Despite eating a lot of food last week at the hotel breakfast buffet each morning around 815am, by 12pm I am hungry again.

We see most pro tennis players have 6 pack when they lift their shirts.

Is it possible to get hot just from playing tennis? If so, how many hours a week to get the 6 pack?

Please inform how is your body shape before answering, Thanks!

I'm slim skin and bones, love coke and hate salad. But play only 1 hour a week these days.
can get a 6pack walking :)

LOL... You're not going to get six packs from just walking alone. Diet and exercise (at Equinox :)) is the key to six packs abs
duh.
point of the vid is that you can do any exercise, but you still need to fix the diet.
this vid was more about, "for all you folks that are too busy to formally do cardio at the gym, here's how you can get your steps in to burn extra cals during your normal working day"...

For about a year or so I followed @Hitman 's advice of not eating right away after a gym workout. Following the workout he gave me and following this advice, I lost a bit of bodyfat (according to the scale that measures impedence). My diet is generally okay, veggies & fruit and meat or fish every day.

I've never been "overweight" but my conditioning and composition has varied a little bit over the years.

Have you tried this exercise machine?

6 pack is mostly genetics and getting your % fat down low enough (which, is also influenced by genetics). that's why even skinny 9 year olds in elementary school have a six pack, or adults who barely workout but barely eat also have six packs.

so yes it's possible just from tennis, 6 packs aren't about bulking your ab muscles, just making them visible. but for most, it's a not a worthwhile fitness goal.

you can see even an elite athlete like nadal doesn't always have magazine cover abs. he's obviously in great shape, but genetically they kind of blend together:

whereas dmitrov hit the jackpot with how his abs are naturally deep set and separated:
Venus William Goaded Grigor Dimitrov Into Showing Off His Abs (menshealth.com)

all of nadal's good genes went to his biceps lol, which he doesn't even work out

Ha, that would make me a cannibal! ;)

Yeah... my diet consists of trash way more often than I care to admit. I'm a sucker for junk food. I consider myself lucky to have been able to eat whatever I want and stay borderline underweight/healthy as long as I did/was. I've added in intermittent fasting an an experiment but I do think a change of diet is what I need - not just a change in volume but something wholly different. Cutting out soda sounds like a good place to start... which would encourage me to decrease fried/greasy foods since I pair them.

Another overlooked area: snacking. I got into the habit of preparing dinner and munching on potato chips, which adds up over time.
