Is it really that strange to spend 8 minutes in the toilet?

Going for numero dos can entail a protracted visit, even with a professional sportsperson's diet.

The variables of the "motion" and "clean-up operation" contribute to the earthly time spent in this spacetime continuum.

I feel an urge - ruminating in my gut - to defend Stefanos "Stef" Tsitsipas' notorious antics during the 2021 edition of the US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York City, New York State, United States of America (USA).

The thing that anyone who has ever exercised will tell you is that it’s not exactly a logical progression.

Going from full exertion and high levels of heart rate and sweating to immediately making a large deposit at the porcelain bank is simply not an action your body is interested in. Special cases this can occur, of course, but not every time one plays.

either he has a serious issue with his gut biome or he may be preoccupied with other interests during these breaks.

It's certainly not strange.
But it's a little unprofessional, that's all. He's a pro athlete. It's generally expected that play should be uninterrupted. You would think he would be used to the rhythm of matches etc by now. He'd be able to schedule eating, etc, and eat healthily so he goes to the can for 8 minute sessions when he gets up or before a match.

Did you really need to start that toilet thread again?

It's strange, but in my 40+ years playing tennis, I never needed a visit for #2.
I guess I am a very fortunate person.
me neither. they play one match a day, right? this is a plan-able situation to be sure unless you've got a stomach bug or something. total baloney and 8 min is more than enough time.

Eight min's too long on the throne to download a big ol' program?...not at all. But in all my younger years, decades ago of playing Little League, Junior High baseball/football, High School baseball/football, and recreational sports including tennis, have I ever had to leave the game to go download...not a single time if my memory serves correct. That's what the afterparty's for.

You are not considering all the possibilities. There’s times when you wouldn’t be able to stand up for quite a long time.

The average poo weighs around 200 grams.

Weighing a player before and after a toilet visit would go a long way towards resolving this issue.
Meh...Sissy would make that weight difference up. Go in looking like an A cup, come out looking like he's sporting a pair of store-bought 44 DD's he'd have so much toilet tissue stuffing going on.

i guarantee he didnt go or need to go #2..
in his defense tho he seems like a diva that does spend copious
amounts of time in the bathroom just washing his hands or looking
at himself in the mirror losing track of time.
he prob spends at least 2min just changing his headband

Everyone gets constipated now and then.

And in some ways, players are probably grateful that their opponents had an opportunity to take a dump.

Think of the gaseous remnants if they were denied same.

San Diego sectionals are full of anecdotes about this.

Given the anomalousness, yet almost paradoxically, frequency of Tsitsipas' defecatory alibis, the fact that it is unusual in the given context is pretty self-evident.

This. Even when I held back the runs and didn't need much focus I still needed 2-3 after to quell the spasms. 5-8 min is more than feasible but pretty only IF you have the runs. That feeling of "maybe-probable" ain't great either.

Unless you can exactly time your morning within a 2 hour window, no. I myself had a banana, eggs, loaded oatmeal (almonds, chia, etc) and 2 cups of coffee and sometimes for whatever reason I wouldn't be in rhythm even 3 hours post. It's a numbers game. How often might it happen in 100 days, 1000?

LOL, try 800-1500 bud.
