Both Stan and Li Na, not injured, bounced out of RG in R1 by relatively unknown low ranked players. Especially Li had won it before and Stan made it to the QF the year before.
More like when TV news tries to show the French open, a black screen will appear with no explanation. I've seen it (but not with something as trivial as a tennis match).Nah, Li Na is poster girl status already. Plus her face sells a lot products in China. Why slap your own spokes person? In fact they would either not talk about RG this yr at all or make up excuses better than her own PR would. And we all know her performance would drop right after a big win.
If they are talking about WTA I would let it slide. Serena came close to doing it and it happened in 1988 (depends on your age but it did happen in flesh and blood).More like when TV news tries to show the French open, a black screen will appear with no explanation. But seriously, I saw Pam Shriver chatting about this with Chris Fowler. I am not a Pam hater, I often find her amusing, but I thought this was sooooo stupid: "so another year with no chance of a CYGS." Like it's something that happens reasonably often. And as though anyone in their right mind would think either of these players would be the ones to do it!
In TT of course people know him. But to the general public he is not well known. I just looked at his records and he never made it past 3rd in any slams since 2004. Most of time he would go out in R1/R2. That's definitely before most people start watching/aware of the FO. I am not saying he is a bad player, just not well known enough.GGL is in no way relatively unknown. Probably one of the hardest first round opponent a top 4 seed could have gotten imo.
